Once again this year, school resource officers from the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Department stuffed their shopping carts full of toys and clothes to bring Christmas to area families in need.

Santa & Mrs. Claus are back in town!  The Greater Olean Area Chamber of Commerce and the City of Olean will host the ‘Visit with Santa’ at their newly built cottage in Olean’s Lincoln Park on Dec. 14. 

Nonprofits in Cattaraugus County together raised $270,364 in just 24 hours during this year’s Cattaraugus Gives program. That total represents some 2,215 gifts from 1,356 donors.

From now until January 14, the public is invited to view more than 140 pieces of artwork submitted by over 50 different artists from Allegany, Cattaraugus and Chautauqua counties at the Tri-County Arts Council’s Small Works Show.

My final interview of a three-part series of “A Boy Band Christmas” concludes with platinum selling artist Ryan Cabrera. Starting out as a lead singer for the band Rubix Groove, Cabrera soon found success as a solo singer/songwriter and guitar player.

The ever-popular Santa Claus Lane Parade in Olean, NY is the official kick-off to the holiday season in the area on Friday, November 25 at 6:30pm at the intersection of Delaware Avenue and North Union Street.  

Every day from Dec. 1-25, award-winning artists from all over the country will release a new piece of miniature art at midnight for the 25 Days of Minis online exhibit, each available for sale.
