While Valentine's Day is all about romance, Galentine’s Day is the ultimate celebration of friendship and laughter - without the heart-shaped chocolates or red roses. Many of our local businesses are planning special “Galentine’s Day” events, giving women (single or married) the perfect excuse to gather, appreciate each other, and shower each other with love. Whether it's with brunch, gifts, or simply a fun night out, this holiday is for us!
Let’s kick things off at Ellicottville Bake Shop. Their Galentine’s Day Brunch Menu will be available February 8-9th from 7:30am-3:30pm both days. This is a no-tickets required event. Just grab your friends, come in, and enjoy! Avocado Toast, Chocolate Chip Pancakes, Cocoa bagels with Strawberry Cream Cheese, Red Velvet Hot Chocolate… sounds good, right? They will also have fresh flowers for sale and some other fun surprises to help make your day extra special. Also, if you happen to be celebrating both “Galentine’s” and Valentine’s, you can still order a holiday cookie box for pick-up the 12th-14th. Call 716-699-9116 to schedule yours. If a delicious food binge is more your squad’s style, head out to Ellicottville Brewing Co. in Little Valley on February 2nd for their “Galentine’s Day Brunch Buffet” from 11:am-2:00pm. Your party will experience a morning filled with joy, mimosas and creativity. Design your own floral arrangement with help from the folks at Swan Street Florist, listen to live music by The Son Duo, indulge in a mouth-watering buffet, snag beverages from the cash bar, and shop the cutest gifts on-site! You could also celebrate your friendships with a unique drink or two at RocketCup Coffee Company’s Cattaraugus location. Their Galentine’s Day Cocktail Making event on February 7th starts at 6:30pm and promises an evening full of laughter, cocktails and creativity. This event is perfect for both beginners and seasoned mixologists. You’ll start with a complimentary themed welcome cocktail upon arrival to help kick things off, then you’ll visit three cocktail creation stations and craft 3 unique themed beverages. “Cupid’s Kiss” is a romantic blend of strawberry and champagne. “Love You Latte” is a coffee-infused delight with creamy liquor. And “Rosé All Day” is a refreshing mix of rosé wine, citrus and elderflower. Don’t be nervous about making a bad drink - there will be step-by-step guidance from expert mixologists and you can customize your creations with syrups, garnishes and rim decorations. Pair your beverages with light bites and treats, and don’t forget to capture the fun at the themed photo booth. You’ll also go home with recipe cards so you can duplicate these delightful drinks at home, and a keepsake glass. Presale tickets are available until Feb. 1st and are $40 each.
