Mark Your Calendars! 2nd Annual 5K Trail Run May 4th at Holimont Resort. This year, we are celebrating May 4th with a Star Wars-themed FUN 5K trail run & Kids Race! Grab your trail running shoes, friends, and family, and explore the beautiful running trails and stunning mountain-top views for a 5K run that everyone will enjoy. Pond Skimming 2025
The last big party of the winter season. Come on out to check out the thrills and spills of the annual Pond Skimming extravaganza. Get ready for a splash of fun at Holiday Valley's annual Pond Skimming at the base of Yodeler. This family-friendly extravaganza marks the grand finale of our winter season, promising laughter and excitement for all ages. Participant Registration: Aspiring skimmers can sign up in person on the day of the event. Participation is limited to the first 50 entrants, so arrive early to secure your spot. Registration will start at 11AM at Yodeler. Costume Encouragement: While not mandatory, participants are encouraged to don creative costumes to add flair to their skimming attempts. Spectator Fun: Even if you're not skimming, join the crowd to cheer on the brave participants as they glide (or splash) across the pond. It's a spectacle you won't want to miss! Ellicottville’s Mardi Gras Parade
Pull out the masks and break out the beads! Make plans to share in all the zany fun with your friends and family! From themed activities on the slopes to a full schedule of entertainment downtown, Ellicottville comes alive with plenty of colorful costumes and high-energy vibes.
The highlight of the weekend is the annual Mardi Gras Parade down Washington Street. Gather your ski buddies, co-workers or just yourself and start planning your very own Mardi Gras Parade theme. Parade applications are now available at ellicottvilleny.com. The best part: It’s FREE! The parade will make its way from Katy’s Cafe to the Gazebo in front of Town Hall.

Boardroom Banked Slalom
Brought to you by The Boardroom Snowboard Shop and Holiday Valley. Get ready for a day dedicated to the WNY snowboarding community! The 7th Annual Boardroom Banked is a banked slalom event where snowboarders of all ages and abilities come together to ride, race, and celebrate the sport we all love.
Riders will take on a custom-built course on Champagne slope. It’s a timed race with a twist! This event isn’t just about winning - it’s about the camaraderie, the vibes, and the shared passion for snowboarding. Whether you’re chasing trophies, prizes, and bragging rights or just enjoying the ride, The Banked is for everyone.

Red Cross Blood Drive
St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Ellicottville will host a community blood drive on Friday, February 28th from 1:00-6:00pm. For more information and to make your appointment, please go to redcrossblood.org.

EVGV Trail Public Forum
Join trail experts to hear about exciting updates in the community.
The proposed 80-mi Southern Tier Trail, which encompasses the planned EVGV Trail, will connect tourists and residents of more than 20 WNY towns, cities, and villages including Ellicottville and Great Valley and will run approximately 52 miles through Cattaraugus County’s scenic destinations. Trail experts will discuss the positive impact the trail with have in terms of health and wellness, tourism and safety in our community, and economic development opportunities. This is a very exciting step in a long planning process of the EVGV Trail.

Annual Contractor’s Day @ HoliMont
HoliMont Contractor’s Day is an event filled with many fun activities that take place on and off the slopes. This year’s activities will include the 37th annual Dave Pitkin Memorial Ski Race, dedicated to him to commemorate his enduring spirit, his contributions to the HoliMont Racing Club, and his part in creating the racing hill. Participants can also enjoy the infamous Bombardier Ball Drop, lunch provided by Dina’s at the Mont, a vendor market and an Apres Ski Party. This event is sponsored by many local businesses and helps to celebrate and support our local community. Join in the fun for one of our most favorite days of the year!

Who Poutine in the Park, A Park Event
The HoliMont Park Crew is amped to bring a snowboard & freeskiing event to its Main Park on Saturday, January 25th, OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. Dubbed “Who Poutine in the Park, A Park Event”, the day celebrates the freestyle movement in an all-day, jam-style format, park platform. In partnership with The Boardroom Snowboard Shop, Jamestown Skate Products, Phatman, Neon Wave, The City Garage, Loud Underground, Daily City Train, Snowflake Ski Shop & 245 Board Co., two jam sessions will showcase style and camaradiere - all for the love of freestyle. Each registered participant will receive a food voucher for Poutine served up by Dina’s at The Mont, plus product giveaways from partnering shops. Registration link with full details to drop soon. Intense Milk Rail Jam
The 2nd of our rail jam series brought to you by our friends at Intense Milk, this free to enter rail jam is a fun time in the park for skiers and riders in the Rail Park at the base of Mardi Gras. The jam style format is free flowing, all about fun vibes, and hanging out with good friends!

Companionshep Fundraising Event
Is your Christmas tree just lying around wasting away in your living room or yard? Now that the holidays are over, it's time to take that baby down! Bring it to the Ellicottville Distillery in anticipation of their annual Christmas Tree Bonfire on Saturday January 18th. The Distillery will open at 12:00pm that day. Come out and enjoy a drink (or five), listen to live music with Tina Williams from 5:00-8:00pm, and then get toasty around the fire at 6:00pm. Need your tree picked up? Contact the Distillery!

Girls Pajama Party Skate
Hey ladies! Our next Girls L8 SK8 is set for Friday, January 17th, 6-9 PM. Sport your favorite PJs (optional), chow down on some pizza, popcorn, and candy salad, watch skate videos, and skate the park, duh! All ages, all wheels, all skill levels welcome. Bring your own equipment or use ours. We have skateboards and a limited number of roller skates and scooters available to rent, plus helmets and pads for anyone who needs them. 2025 Winter Blues Weekend
Fill your Ellicottville experience with a lively weekend of great blues music during Ellicottville’s annual Winter Blues Weekend. Holiday Valley’s Torchlight Parade 2024
Ring in the New Year with the Holiday Valley New Year’s Eve Celebration, Groomer Parade, Torchlight Parade and spectacular fireworks display. Family friendly party in the main Lodge. Approximate times: Groomer Parade on Cindy’s Run at 11:15pm, torchlight parade at 11:30pm then the fireworks show at 11:45pm, ending at midnight. Christmas Eve Service
The United Church of Ellicottville has a longtime tradition of a candlelight service on Christmas Eve to celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. This tradition is one of the oldest traditions in Ellicottville’s history. The United Church of Ellicottville would like to welcome everyone to attend the candlelight service on Christmas Eve at 9:00 PM located at 53 Elizabeth St. All are welcome and we look forward to celebrating with you!

Punkin’ Chunkin” 2024
Come on out to 5462 Robbins Road on November 2nd from 12:00-6:00pm for the annual Punkin’ Chunkin’ event. What exactly is Punkin’ Chunkin’ you ask? Well, that’s where the distillery takes leftover pumpkins of various sizes (with some pretty big ones added just for the fun of it), and sends them soaring with the use of a full size trebuchet. A trebuchet is a catapult with a sling on the end to throw objects even farther; it’s operated with a counterweight that drops and sets the arm in motion. There will also be live music by The Hick Ups, food from the on-site food truck and more.

GREAT VALLEY TRUCK OR TREAT
For the first year, Great Valley Fire Company is hosting a new Halloween event. Come down to the Firehall on October 31st for the Truck or Treat. (Yes, they said truck.) You can see the ambulances and firetrucks up close while collecting some tasty candy. The event runs 5:00pm to 7:00pm and everyone is welcome.

ELLICOTTVILLE TRUNK OR TREAT
St. Paul’s Lutheran Church is once again teaming up with the Ellicottville Rotary club to bring it’s Halloween Trunk or Treat to life this October. October 31st from 5:00 - 7:00pm, kids of all ages can walk around the fun trunk displays, collecting candy from the local volunteers and then come inside the church for the Rotary’s not-so-spooky halloween party. Complete with games and sweet prizes. Looking forward to seeing our community members there.

EVL HALLOWEEN HALF 2024
The EVL Halloween Half will be a fun filled Halloween-themed event on Saturday October 26, 2024. The event will feature a Half Marathon, 5k, and a Half Marathon Relay. We encourage runners of all abilities to join us! WHERE: The EVL Half begins and ends in the charming village of Ellicottville, NY. Running in the EVL Half Marathon will take you on 13.1 miles of beautiful countryside roads. WHEN: The Half will start at 11 AM on Monroe Street, NY in the Village of Ellicottville on Saturday, October 26, 2024! WHY: Because it is October and what could be more fun? The race will also benefit our charity partners - The Ellicottville Sport Boosters - a group dedicated to getting local children involved in athletics, as well as the local food pantry. Participants are invited to run in costume and enjoy other Halloween related activities but this is by no means mandatory. Eric is the Guinness World Record Holder for carving the World's Largest Jack-o'-lantern and his unique and intricate carvings on Food Network's Outrageous Pumpkins earned him the win in this past year's competition, and he was a finalist on Food Network's Halloween Wars. EA TO EVL FONDO
Get ready to pedal with purpose at the EA2EVL Fondo, the ultimate cycling adventure for a cause! On an awe-inspiring route that kicks off at 42 North Brewery, you'll cruise past the picturesque ECRT trail and roll into the heart of Ellicottville. This is more than just a ride; it's a celebration with food, tunes, and good vibes awaiting at the finish line party. Not just a day on the saddle, you're riding to boost the Erie Cattaraugus Rail Trail – a trail treasured by many. Be one of the first 50 to snag an early bird discount, or join the ranks of top fundraisers to win exclusive rewards. Lock in your choice of post-ride transport back to the start and let's make this charity ride unforgettable! 10AM: Fondo start at 42 North Brewing Company (25 Pine Street, East Aurora, NY). 1 – 5PM: Apres Bike Party with craft beer, food, vendors, chair lift rides and the lively tunes of Never Ben. This is a fan favorite event among Ellicottville locals. Over 15 regional bands will perform throughout our legendary bars and restaurants, all free of charge. On Saturday, there will be a live outdoor performance by The Fleetwood Mac Experience at 1:00pm; and Sunday is Terry Buchwald’s Elvis show at 1:30pm. On Sunday the annual car and truck show, featuring over 250 vehicles, will take place on the Village Streets from noon until 5pm. Rock N’ Roll weekend has been an annual event in our community for over 20 years. It’s a perfect fall weekend for the whole family to enjoy! We have a 4-block radius full of wonderful dining experiences, boutiques, shops, and best of all, there’s entertainment on every corner.

Weekend Chairlift Rides @ Holiday Valley
Enjoy a chairlift ride to Spruce Lake. You may explore Spruce Lake and walk down the trail or ride back down on the chairlift and you can load your mountain bike on the lift to ride the trails at the top of the mountain! Available Saturdays and Sundays from June 29 through October 30, 11am to 5pm. (Fall chairlift rides are 12pm to 4pm.) Sorry, dogs are not allowed on the chairlift. Purchase lift ride tickets at the Sky High Harness Shop.
