On Saturday, June 15, 2024, we will gather to run and walk to remember and celebrate our beloved Elisa Hughey, who lost her battle with colon cancer 8 years ago - to the day. Please mark your calendars and join us in person (contact Brenda directly for details) or join virtually wherever you are on June 15th. We will commence activity on/about 11:00am EDT. And don’t forget to share your photos to the Facebook page: Elisa B. Hughey Scholarship for the Arts. We love to be supported from far and near!

We deeply appreciate all of you. Because of your continued support, the Elisa B. Hughey Scholarship/Fund for the Arts will now sustain one $1,000 Art Scholarship award for years to come. What an amazing way to honor Elisa’s memory! Speaking of which, we have selected another very talented Art student to receive the 2024 Scholarship that will be awarded at graduation in June. This is the 15th high school student we’ve awarded since the scholarship was established in 2017! Stay tuned for that announcement. 

Other exciting news we wanted to share is starting in 2025, we will open the Scholarship to three neighboring school districts, in addition to West Valley and Ellicottville. In this way, we will offer more Art students the opportunity to apply for our Scholarship. A win-win! 

With your help, we look forward to continuing to build the fund, offer more Art Scholarships and pursue other ways to support arts in the local (WNY) community. (Think Murals!)
