The Wonderful World of Crystals
The Wonderful World of Crystals
Simple remedies for common symptoms
Using crystals in our daily lives is not a woo-woo thing at all. In fact, we have crystals in our body! The formation of quartz, the second most common mineral in earth’s crust, takes from thousands to millions of years to form. Imagine all the events it has witnessed! Quartz retains what is programmed into it, and is able to evenly cycle it back. That’s why it’s used in watches, clocks, cell phones, televisions and other electronics. With precision, it pulses energy at a consistent, measurable rate.
The human body has micro crystals in our pineal gland (our intuition antenna), as well as in our bone marrow and in our ears! As a medical intuitive, I can quickly whip together what I call a “Crystal Prescription” for anyone to fill in void energy causing imbalances in a person’s life. For example, someone who needs help with staying sober, quitting addictions, and/or needs help focusing, I would recommend amethyst. If they have some anxiety, I would pair it with a black crystal such as obsidian, which is volcano glass. That pairing minimizes the extreme feelings of withdrawal and cravings, while the obsidian reminds one that when under pressure, I can stay in my body and not react. Here are some other simple remedies for common symptoms:
Feelings of being ungrounded, instability, lack of confidence, money issues, resentment: Garnet all day! The reddest black, this is a crystal of depth, boldness, and stealth courage. One of my favorites, it is also a crystal that goes with the astrological sign Scorpio - “what doesn’t kill me makes me stronger!”
Surrounded by negativity, toxic people, toxic work environment: Black crystals, period. Black crystals help dispel and repel negativity! Some of my favorite black crystals are smoky quartz, black obsidian, black tourmaline, onyx, hematite and shungite.
Duress, stress, anxiety: Smoky quartz. It’s powerful and will eat your stress for dinner. It transmutes stress and spits it out, giving yourself space to breathe and process what’s going on. Blue lace agate: Calm, peaceful and soothing, this is a pearly blue dream that gently lets you know you can soften and take a load off, relax. A beautiful, subtle energy like a cloud, this is a fantastic crystal for creativity and truth. You can pair either of these with a bloodstone - a dark green stone with red specks, which is beautifully grounding and helps anchor an anxious heart chakra. It’s bold and soothing at the same time.
Confidence boost or happiness: Citrine. Wonderful for inner joy, also for prosperity. It helps you align with your goals and gives you the boost to believe you CAN accomplish them. Citrine boosts your solar plexus chakra containing the “I am” energy. Pyrite - another one of my favorites. Its sparkly gold formation twinkles with joyous energy. It helps one to laugh again, especially getting through or following any major life event. This one is giddy, giggly, and helps us lighten up.
A situation where you have to speak, or need to write something important: Lapis lazuli. Its bold cobalt blue color is striking, and its qualities bring strength to the throat energy center, the seat of communication. Find and deliver the right words with this one! It helps stabilize your energy and deliver your messages with strength and integrity.
Emotionally heavy, stuck, writer’s block, creative flow, sexual health: Sunstone. It is happy and helps get that sacral chakra flowing again. Honey calcite, orange calcite - beautiful, soft calcites fluoresce under UV light and help us light up places in us where the lights went out.
Focus, Fortitude, Psychic Awareness: A wonderful choice to cover lots of things we may desire is rainbow fluorite. It can vary from rare blue-greens, to browns, golden yellows, and is usually seen in greens and purples. This is fantastic for writing a paper, problem-solving, being able to laser in when you need to, but also on a psychic level.
Boost psychic awareness: Labradorite (or Spectrolite). This misty blue variety of feldspar has an iridescent play of colors called labradorescence, flashing beautiful blues, yellows, oranges and greens. It sparks an awe-inspiring flair within us reminiscent of the Aurora Borealis. Apatite - A deep blue/green crystal that brings forth the courage to dig deeper, seeing behind the veil between realms and be able to come back to our side, bringing the truth to the fore.
Self-care, Self-love: Rose quartz. This is the stone of love, of the heart chakra. Helps with being able to RECEIVE, also to feel your feelings, and let them to process, vs. being choked back or withheld. Opens the heart chakra (but if suffering from grief or a breakup, pair this with bloodstone or a black crystal such as Apache tears). Green aventurine is a stone of prosperity - I recommend keeping this, and/or pyrite and/or citrine, in your wallet. It’s a warm, soft, friendly green color that invites ability to value yourself, and then get paid what you’re worth.
Good everything crystal if I could only pick one: Amethyst. This is purple quartz, and is great for ALL the energy centers, psychic awareness and clarity, sobriety as mentioned, but also clearing and lightening wherever you need it. Some say it’s a great stone for sleep but my experience is the opposite. I had a big piece by my head and I was buzzing like crazy and had to move it away.
Speaking of that, what is good for sleeplessness? Howlite. A peaceful white with grey veins in it, the energy is calming and wants nothing more than peace. Take a tumbled howlite and put it in your pillowcase. You can pair it with a black crystal, especially if you suffer from nightmares.
AMPLIFYING: The master healer of them all is clear quartz. You can easily program a clear quartz by praying or stating your intentions while holding it. Clear quartz is an amplifier! Anything you pair with clear quartz will super boost that item. For example, I need to feel joy again, I lost my spark - pair a pyrite with a clear quartz and KABAM! A boost of amped-up pyrite and bold high clarity!
I NEVER recommend using raw or tumbled crystals in water as an elixir! Some crystals release arsenic when submersed in water. People can become sick from doing this. What I DO recommend if you want a crystal elixir, is to place the crystal prescription into a sterile small glass vessel and then put that in your cup, then hold the cup in both hands in front of your heart and repeat the intention, then drink the water. Or put your crystals in a glass vessel and place your cup on top of the jar to infuse the water with the crystal energy. I recommend only using water as the drink. Water, like quartz, receives and remembers. What you put into it, will repeat and deliver!
There are so many hundreds of wonderful crystals to enjoy; this is nowhere near an all-inclusive list, but just a sample of how you can work with crystals. I’m offering a very well-loved favorite workshop, “How to Feel Crystal Energy” on Friday, May 2nd at 5:30pm in my former retail space, 11 Martha Street in the village of Ellicottville. We will work with 9 crystals and you will be able to actually FEEL how you do or don’t resonate with each, and learn what that means. You get to keep the crystals we use. Space is limited to 15; reserve now by visiting my website, www.suzy-woo.com, and click on the Events tab.
If you have questions on crystals, I would love to hear from you! If you want to get a personalized reading and your crystal prescription, please choose a reading on my booking menu. This can be done in person or via zoom and I can ship you the crystals. Which crystal is your favorite? I’d love to hear from you!
