It’s been a bit since we checked in on Ellicottville’s newest retail shop. The Old West Co. stampeded in just a few months ago with their modern western wear and things have been picking up ever since.

Owner Ariel Clark stated, “The Old West Co. has surpassed our expectations for success! Our customers have responded positively, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly good. Our fashion inventory has been flying off the shelves!”

Indeed, they’ve been selling out and restocking various styles of clothing, boots, jewelry, and hats. They had opted to begin with a small inventory to test the waters, but their style has proven to be a hit. Customers are constantly telling them how cute their clothes are and overall how adorable the store is.

“That is something that we will never get tired of hearing!” Ariel said. “We're excited to bring in new clothing styles every week and are actively working on restocking and expanding all inventory.”

So what new things will their inventory include? Right now they are ordering and getting in a lot of fall styles which they are very excited about sharing with their clientele. They are also in the process of creating their own branded items such as shirts and Old West Co. stickers.

What have customers most requested since they opened? “One of our biggest requests has been adding a men’s selection for clothing,” said Ariel, “so that is one of our top priorities for the upcoming fall season.”

Currently they have only four styles of men’s boots compared to the 18 styles they have for women. Their goal is to expand to offer as many styles for men as they do for the ladies and have a good selection of clothing for men to choose from. Customers will see a lot more western themed home decor and non-apparel items offered this fall as well. (Think statues, bookends, etc.)

Ariel was hard-pressed to pick the top seller of their items so far. “It’s difficult to pinpoint a single top-selling item because everything is in high demand! However, if I had to choose, I'd say the hats are our bestsellers. The Hat Bar is one of our favorite parts of the store - it's so fun to work with customers and design hats that reflect their personality and taste. From selecting the perfect hat to adding accessories, and my personal favorite, the branding, the process is always a great experience.” (They prefer customers to make an appointment online if they want a customized hat. The link can be found on their Facebook or Instagram page.)

“Overall, we are extremely grateful that our vision has been successful and well received,” said Ariel. “The Ellicottville community and other business owners have been so welcoming which has made us feel right at home and happy with our decision to open up in town. We are thrilled about our early success and look forward to what the future holds.”

We know we’re looking forward to seeing what else they have to offer once their Fall orders come in. While you wait for the new line, stop by and visit the Old West Co. and pick out your perfect pair of boots or spend some time trying out the hats on the wall! (That’s what our team did just last week!)
