BOCES Constructs Holiday Cutouts for Ellicottville

ELLICOTTVILLE, NY – Even though this holiday season is not going to look the same, there is still holiday spirit all around. A committee was formed by the Ellicottville Chamber of Commerce to see how to get even the most Grinchy heart glowing with joy. Together they came up with various ideas that followed all of the COVID guidelines and would continue to keep everyone safe.

The idea to have a place where families could safely take pictures to create new memories was discussed. Then the idea of having holiday cutouts came to the forefront and everyone was onboard.

Thanks to the support and sponsorship from Holiday Valley, the committee was able to begin the process of the holiday cutouts. After reaching out to instructor Chris Golley at the BOCES Center in Ellicottville, the plan was in motion, and after about a week, Chris and the students worked hard and created cutouts that Ellicottville will be able to use for many years.

“We at the Chamber are very thankful for the support of Holiday Valley, the hard work and dedication of the students at BOCES and the amazing committee for banding together during these times to try to add some holiday joy to everyone this season,” said Barb Pump, Project Development Manager at the Ellicottville Chamber of Commerce.  “Please feel free to take your pictures with the beautiful and festive cutouts, but remember to social distance and wear your mask if you cannot maintain 6 feet.

A huge thank you to Holiday Valley, Chris Golley and the BOCES students who made the amazing cutouts, and to the committee: Jessica Gilbert (Ava Grace Fashions), Laura Solly (Daff Dry Goods), Annie Coe (Cupcaked), Carrie Busekist (Cornell Co-op. Ext.) and Meaghan Lucarelli (ellicottvilleNOW).
