Summer Classes Announced

Core Performance Weighs in On Studio Vs. Gym and What They’ve Got Coming Up This Season

I created Core Performance Fitness and Training in 2009 because I felt gyms were designed to fail their members. Typically, folks sign up for a gym membership for a variety of reasons and are excited and committed for about 2 weeks. Then, with no direction or guidance and no one to be accountable to, they stop coming altogether.

My studio was designed to prevent this from happening by providing customized fitness plans that not only guide the client, but also educate them on the what and why’s of muscle development and movement. It was created so that every client or participant in a group fitness class/personal training feels that they were getting the most effective workout to meet their specific needs. It was designed to be a safe environment that promotes proper form under the supervision of a professional and certified trainer/instructor. Our job at Core Performance is to motivate, educate and ensure the safety of all of our members. That is what sets our studio apart from a gym.

Core Performance does not have a membership fee. You can drop-in for a class or sign up for a variety of packages for either fitness classes/personal training. All of our instructors and trainers are certified. Our goal at Core Performance is to provide a community that supports and encourages anyone brave enough to take that first step to a healthier and more fit life. We do our best to make fitness fun, challenging and functional.

This summer Core will offer a variety of morning classes. If you are an early riser, join us for the 6:00am class on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. This class has its roots in the TRX Strong and Fit classes that only TRX certified trainers are qualified to instruct. It also has circuits and old-school elements that will continuously challenge participants. What it does NOT have is jumping and jerking movements. Our cardio comes from muscle exertion.

At 7:00am every Tuesday morning Core offers a Deep Stretch class with meditation at the end of each class. This class is the class you didn’t know you needed until you take it. It is not yoga or Pilates, however, you will see elements of each of these. You will leave this class more limber and relaxed than when you arrived.

We are excited to announce our dear friend Mila Clauss will be joining our team this summer for an 8:00am workout that includes cardio, legs and a new segment called “arms and light weights” which Mila explains is deceivingly challenging. And of course, Mila will include her famous core routine that always leaves our participants sore but happy. This class is a pre-sign up only and will run the month of July on a flexible schedule. (The schedule is posted on our Facebook and website page. You can also get a hard copy at our studio at 55 Bristol Lane.)

Finally, Core offers an 8:30am class on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This class is also a TRX sequence that is taught by a TRX certified instructor. The format follows a circuit that takes participants through TRX, weight training and core routine. Cardio is low impact yet calorie burning.
