Local 12-Year-Old Turns Ambition Into Entrepreneurship

Young and inspired, Lilly Pearl is ready to step into the driver’s seat and steer into the world of small business with the opening of Pearl’s Car Wash & Detail. Fueled by ambition, she is ready to share with the community all that she has to offer! So, let’s take a peek behind the garage doors at our eager entrepreneur and welcome her services to the area.
Polished to perfection, Pearl’s Car Wash & Detail became a reality when twelve-year-old Lilly was cheered on by family members to take her hard work and turn it into something of her own. After a routine car cleaning for her grandparents, her grandmother encouraged her by saying, “Lilly you should take this into business” and just like that, it jump started an idea based off of support and determination. Her mother, Alicia Pearl, commented on the pride she has for her daughter and her leap into business, “Lilly has always and will continue to make me very proud. Not only because of her outstanding work ethic but her unconditional love towards her family. She is always willing to help those around her and that's how the idea of the business blossomed. She spends most Saturdays helping out her grandma and grandpa. She had spent one Saturday cleaning out their cars and did an exceptional job. She puts pride into everything she does.” Motivated by a family support system and driven to succeed, Lilly is clearly trailblazing her own path as a young entrepreneur.
The car wash quickly turned into a way to watch her efforts turn into well deserved cash, enough so that with the help of her mother, they began to expand beyond just friends and family. They took the time to invest in a business name that felt right and was also a way for Lilly to honor her late Uncle John of Great Valley. Together, again as a family front, her mother and herself designed the logo for the business and put together a social media page on Facebook under Pearl's Car Wash & Detail. Alicia Pearl also handles the point of contact either by phone or text, but when it comes to the elbow grease, Lilly is scrubbing her way to success.
The services offered by Pearl’s Car Wash & Detail include interior and exterior detailing as well as wheel detailing with a price point of $20 an hour. Cleaning services may vary from the condition of the car, but the work put into it is always 100%. Rolling up her sleeves and ready to work, Lilly likes to start the process by clearing the cars of their floor mats. She then goes in to wipe down the interior, cleaning all surfaces of any dust and dirt. Finishing off the interior, she vacuums down the floor, upholstery, and all other areas involved in the deep-clean. Finally, with the help of her father, the car is power washed and ready for the road. Typically, a full detail runs between 2-3 hours.

Outside of her newly founded business, Lilly is a student and enjoys playing sports, hanging out with friends, and helping her family. She aspires to be a teacher or work in physical education. The Great Valley native looks forward to using her business to help her reach her goal of having some financial freedom at such a young age. She demonstrates that there’s no age limit on the road to success and is a refreshing reminder that, even at twelve years old, she’s ready for the twists and turns of entrepreneurship.
