Greater Olean Area Chamber Plans a Plethora of Holiday Activities!


OLEAN - A Hallmark Christmas movie scene from the start, the 3rd Annual Jingle Bell Jubilee is looking like another hit from the Greater Olean Area Chamber of Commerce. Deemed as a holiday event featuring many activities and events - the holiday market, make and take craft, horse and wagon rides, and decorate the tree contest - the Jingle Bell Jubilee will be back at Lincoln Park this Friday, December 8th from 4:30-8:30pm. 

The Lincoln Park pavilion is jam packed with holiday vendors again this year: Basket Barn, 2 Sweet Desserts, JML Homemade, Lakeview Farm Alpacas, Bee Spit Meadery, The Crazy Daisy Lady, Whimsical Stone Creations, AnnMarie Baklava, Fat Root, Dark Matter Filaments, Rusty Rooster, Tracy's Lotsa Dots, Diane's Creativity, Sew Stitch'n Cute, Whisper Hill Farms, Pawlowski Woodworking, Ellicottville Green, Cattaraugus SPCA, GOACC, the Clay Aesthetic, Vintage Olean, The She Garage, Teri's Treasure Trunk, Swan Street Florist, Throwing Stone Studio, Bell, Book and Vinyl, Rolling Scones Baking Co., and Winey Shepherds. All but five of the vendors will be under the pavilion, with those five near the pavilion vending.

MAKE AND TAKES: Pfeiffer Nature Center, Tri-County Arts Council, tentative Swan Street Florist Shop and SerenHippity will host a table with make-n-take items and activities. Most all activities will be free to participants while supplies last.

Pizza Napoli will be catering on-site with their food truck serving up pizzas, calzones, sandwiches, and more. Sweet Ride Donut truck will have their fresh donuts and hot/iced drinks. Both Winey Shepherds and Bee Spit Meadery will have holiday warm drinks for those 21+ age.

Staff from the Olean Family YMCA will down Friday from 5:00-7:00pm and will have games for children to partake in including hot holiday bulb (like hot potato), scavenger hunt and more.

The horse and wagon rides will return Friday night. T&S Belgians of Houghton will be down with their horse and wagon for rides. Rides are $2/person or family of 6 for $10. Staging area will be on South Street south of the Lincoln Park and will run from 5:00-8:00pm. Lines for the rides WILL NOT start until 4:45pm that night and will be behind the pavilion. Tickets can be purchased as riders come through the line. 

Badger and Butterfly Studios will be down at the Jingle Bell Jubilee and will provide free holiday face painting and air brushed holiday icons for people of all ages from 5:00-7:00pm.  Some examples include Santa, candy cane, elf and more.

Get Your Cookies and Run! Two separate mini events will also be held in conjunction with the Jubilee. The Holiday Cookie Crawl is where attendees will redeem their cookie vouchers at 7 locations as they crawl along Union Street area under the holiday lights. They may start or end wherever, but an additional stop will be at the Jingle Bell Jubilee under the pavilion with a stop at pop-up vendor, Olean Chamber. The fee to crawl is $10/individual or family of four $30. To register, please go online to shop.oleanny.com or stop in the Chamber office to sign up.    

Run Run Rudolph Walk/Run participants will leave Eade Fitness at 6:00pm, winding their way through the streets of Olean to the roundabout at Main Street, and will run under the holiday lights on North Union Street to Lincoln Park. The fee for the run is $15. There will be no official time kept for this Festive Frolic. To register, please call 716-372-4433 with participant information or go online https://bit.ly/3o5yaCV. Olean Theatre Workshop, under the direction of Steve Ahl, is coordinating local groups with holiday music. The schedule is 4:30pm with OHS Bel Canto; 5:00pm with Allegany Limestone Central School Elementary School; 5:30pm with OTW Middle school class; 6:00pm with OTW High school class; 6:30pm with Tyrone Hall and CWOW; and 7:00pm-8:30 pre-recorded holiday music.

The Festival of Trees will be back at the park with ten local organizations decorating and then auctioning off their respective trees. Organizations include: Enchanted Mountain Garden Club; CASA - Trinity; WNY Heroes, Franciscan Sisters of Allegany and Associates, C.O.L.O.R.S. Association, Interfaith Caregivers, United Way of Cattaraugus County, League of Women Voters Cattaraugus / Allegany, The Pink Pumpkin Project, and St. Vincent de Paul Society Thrift Store. Visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus in their cottage is scheduled that night of Jubilee from 5:30-7:30pm. Children can visit with Santa through the windows and receive a special goodie bag from Mrs. Claus.
