Beer & Wine Festival Introduces New Friday Night Event

With ski season and the holidays right around the corner, there is plenty to look forward to as the days become shorter and cooler. Whether you’re looking for a fun getaway or planning your holiday shopping, Ellicottville has lots of options. One pre-ski season event that many Ellicottville fans look forward to each November is the Beer & Wine Festival at Holiday Valley…

If warm weather means frozen drinks and fruit-infused cocktails, then the cold months are definitely about the craft beers, spicy ciders, and savory wines! Why not try something new at Holiday Valley’s Beer and Wine Festival Weekend, November 10-11th? Now in its 19th year, the festival will feature the best craft breweries, wineries and cideries where you can enjoy your favorites or try something new and unique. New this year, the festival will kick off with the “Crawl Outta Fall” pub crawl on Friday, November 10th.

“The idea for the Crawl Outta Fall event was collaborative between Holiday Valley and some of the bars/restaurants downtown,” said Holiday Valley Marketing Director Dash Hegeman. “There was an opportunity for us to extend the overall Beer & Wine Festival experience and create even more of a tie-in with the village for our guests. It gives people coming into town the chance to do something on that Friday night and have some fun before the festival on Saturday. Once we all got together and really started conceptualizing this, it evolved pretty fast. Madigan’s, Villaggio, 12 Gates, Balloons, Silver Fox, Monroe Street Brick and Brew, Taqueria and The Banq were all excited about the concept and came onboard to participate early on in the discussions. After that, everything fell into place really nicely.”

The crawl begins with a welcome reception at the Tamarack Club from 5:30-8:30pm. Here, participants can register for just $10, which includes a passport card, a first drink at John Harvard’s, and access to the shuttle service. The shuttle service will run from 6:00pm-2:00am and will depart from the Tamarack Club every half hour. Participating bars include 12 Gates, Balloons, The Banq, Madigan’s, Monroe Street Brick and Brew, Silver Fox, EBC Taqueria, and Villaggio. To win the ultimate Holiday Valley experience - a dine, stay, and play package - collect four stamps on your passport and submit it to the Tamarack front desk or at the Beer and Wine Festival on Saturday to be entered for the drawing.

On Saturday, November 11th there will be two separate sessions of the Beer and Wine Fest. Session one runs from 1:00-4:00pm and session two runs from 5:00-8:00pm. Some of the brands you can expect to taste test at this year’s event include Voodoo Brewing, Eli Fish, Erie Brewing Company, Five & 20 Brewing, Marquee Brewing, Naked Dove Brewing, Windy Brew, Meiers Creek Brewing, Sixpoint Brewery, Bold Rock Cider, Southern Tier Brewing, Victory Brewing Company, 12 Gates Brewing, 1911 Established, Big Ditch Brewing, Ellicottville Brewing Company, Founders Brewing, Steelbound Brewery & Distillery, Flying Bison Brewing, Saranac/Utica Club, Woodcock Brothers, and 42 North Brewing Company.

Throughout the festival, visitors can enjoy live entertainment by XOXO, Porcelain Busdrivers, and Todd Mertens. Tickets are available online for both sessions. For those interested in making a weekend out of it, lodging packages are available for Saturday night only, and for Friday and Saturday nights.
