New Shop: Azalea Park Decor

New Cattaraugus Business Offers Gorgeous Decor Inspiration & Classic Tea Room

Azalea Park Decor & Alice’s Tea Room newly opened this summer and continues to add every bit of charm into the building at 55 S. Main Street in Cattaraugus, NY. The building itself is just as beautiful as the home décor shop inside. Built in 1900, this six-roomed store features a large variety of items, from home décor, antiques, gifts, bath products, and even expanding to baked goods, teas, and other tasty treats.

The welcoming shop makes for the perfect spot to spend the day. You will find yourself exploring each trinket and uniquely placed piece, before coming across your very own treasure to take home.

The owners and operators, a mother and son duo Michelle and Jesse Fisher, found this to be one of the many reasons they pursued their passions and opened Azalea Park Decor & Alice’s Tea Room. Jesse Fisher discussed the vision they had, “We wanted to create a space that combined things we like to do. We love to find shops with handmade items, antiques, and unique décor. Recently we fell in love with going to tea houses and thought we could add that on to our vision. We’re always on the lookout for unique places and so we thought how fun would it be to bring that to our hometown!”

Not only does the store serve as the Fishers’ way to share their passion for one of a kind finds, they also just recently expanded the shop to include an in-house dining room alongside Alice’s Tea Room.

Alice’s Tea Room, which was named after Michelle Fisher’s mother, Alice Anne Abramowski, is an inviting space upstairs dedicated to giving guests the true tea experience. With a variety of packages to choose from, you can make yourself feel like a queen and adorn yourself with the best of the best. And not to worry, they also have plenty of options for anyone in the group, such as a personal selection of tea, which can be substituted for coffee or juice, and a large assortment of pastries, cheeses, sandwiches, and of course, dessert!

The tea room is currently accepting reservations and is the perfect spot to host a small gathering with seating up to 12. Birthday parties, baby showers, book clubs, church groups, and family gatherings are some of the events regularly seen and Alice’s Tea Room would be happy to host your next special occasion. Reservations can be made by contacting the store by phone, their website includes the store number and additional information here.

True to Azalea Park Decor’s charm, you will also find another dining space with a few tables that prepares weekly specials to be enjoyed. Shoppers have the option to reserve a table to extend their day in the 100+ year old building. It proves to be a great option for those who would really like to take their time enjoying each and every room. Discussing the newly added space that was opened in September of this year, co-owner Jesse Fisher had said, “It’s been amazing. We’ve created a very unique experience where you can both dine and shop. Our customers seem to love it so far.” So now you have the option to treat yourself to any and all of the options Azalea Park Design & Alice’s Tea Room extends!

The shop provides a growing collection from over 20 different local artisans and they love to support the Cattaraugus community makers. It was a must for owners Michelle and Jesse to include homemade pieces like the hand-crafted soaps and balms that are one of a kind, to the small-batched jams and local honey. Every piece of the shop has been well thought of and planned for with such love that only a passionate pair could pull it off. A place where you will find attention to all your questions and in turn, maybe even a tip or two from Michelle’s perfected home styling. A style that has been compared to Joanna Gaines, but paired with the local artists of Cattaraugus, NY, it gives off a balance of warmth and welcome. When you shop at Azalea Park you are sure to bring a touch of that exact balance into your own home.

Azalea Park Decor and Alice’s Tea Room should make their way onto your list of one stop shops for the upcoming holidays. Find yourself the picturesque table décor for your thanksgiving evening, locally made candles to fill the room with a seasonal scent, and plenty of gifts to pass along the upcoming Christmas cheer. Make the time to enjoy a delicious meal or afternoon tea at one of the many dining spaces and truly give yourself a full day to explore. One trip here and you will be sure to find yourself coming back. The shop is always expanding their inventory and antiques, you will be surprised at what you will find on your next stop!
