Home Show Palooza

OLEAN – As the entire world enters into a ‘new’ normal, Greater Olean Area Chamber of Commerce is presenting a new option for this year’s Home Show – the Home Show Palooza!

“The Palooza is a one-day home show,” stated Meme K. Yanetsko, GOACC COO. “Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we couldn’t plan for the normal show, so we moved it to Lincoln Park pavilion and created a home renovation market ... with vendors also throughout the park.”

The palooza will be held this Friday, May 21st, from 12:00-8:00pm at Lincoln Park, 102 East State Street, Olean.  More than twenty of the area's leading businesses are expected to exhibit their wares and services: Cattaraugus County-The Enchanted Mountains; Cutco Ka-Bar Visitors Center; Better Business Bureau of Upstate New York; Harrington Builders; Cattaraugus/Allegany BOCES; Jamestown Community College; Microtel Inn & Suites; Trades of Hope; Community Bank N.A.; Olean Medical Group, LLP; Sturm Inspection Services, LLC; Retriever Training-Andy Merkel; Modern Window; Edward Jones Tim Hall; Equitable Advisors; Hunt of A Lifetime Foundation; Avon & McCarthy's Emporium; Bath Fitter of Erie; Impact Internet; Kellner, LLC; ASAP Drain Cleaning; Williams Seasonal Services; Year Round Property Care; and Anderson Shortell.

The show will have building ideas and new techniques, home décor, and demos.  Music will be provided at the gazebo from three area radio stations: WPIG/WOLY, WMXO/Mix 101.5 and WBRR Hero 100.1.  Don’t worry about hunger or thirst as the event will feature food and beverages from The Hungry Burro and Four Mile Brewing Co.

Although there is no admission, the palooza will be enclosed in an event area. GOACC officials ask for those coming to wear facemasks and practice social distancing. GOACC will also have an information booth with giveaway sign-ups and basket raffles. The fabulous palooza door prizes were provided by Home Depot of Olean and Miller’s Farm Market. Grand prize is a Tipton 34” Deep Bowl Firepit courtesy of Home Depot and second prize of a $200 gift certificate courtesy of Miller’s Farm Market.

“We realize that this is NOT our normal home show.  Thanks to our committees and their fabulous ideas as well as those vendors who are partaking in this event, we are hoping for the best for this event,” added Yanetsko.  The 2022 Home Show will be back at the William O. Smith Recreation Center.

Yanetsko added, “Thanks to Olean Times Herald for being a co-sponsor for our event. Using their expertise in promotion and their new outlets – video production and online connections, we feel that our palooza vendors will get a great effort in marketing of their business for the cost of participating.”

GOACC is planning on a common-sense approach to all of their events – if you don’t feel well, please stay home. If you are uncomfortable attending large scale events, please refrain from attending.  For more information or questions, call Greater Olean area Chamber of Commerce at 716-372-4433, email info@oleanny.com or stop in at 301 North Union Street, Olean.
