Taste of Ellicottville
ELLICOTTVILLE - Join us August 13th and 14th to get a taste for why people keep coming back to Ellicottville year after year for a foodie experience like no other. The Taste of Ellicottville, produced by the Ellicottville Chamber of Commerce, takes to the streets for its 36th year of culinary enjoyment!
Where else can you come to a village the size of Ellicottville and find over 20 restaurants and eateries featuring some of their best dishes?
“The restaurants take so much pride in what they do, and we believe the Taste of Ellicott-ville really allows them to showcase all of their hard work that they put in year-round,” said Jessica Wallace, Business Development Manager of the Ellicottville Chamber of Commerce. “If it’s your first time, amazing food, people and atmosphere is what you will experience when you come out for the Taste.”
Samples of area restaurants’ signature dishes will be served up both Saturday and Sunday from noon-4:00pm. Purchase your food tickets at the event, grab a menu and plan your course of attack. Tickets are $1 each, with food items starting at $2.00. Not only will you find a variety flavors, there will also be gluten-free and other healthy options to pick from.
The Ellicottville Chamber of Commerce is proud to welcome back Sysco as the Presenting Sponsor for this year’s Taste. The food service corporation is the supplier of choice for area restaurants and continues its mission in giving back to the community.
“As a part of the long-lasting relationship between Sysco and the Ellicottville restaurants, it is always great to have Sysco as a Presenting Sponsor of the Taste of Ellicottville,” said Brian McFadden, Executive Director of the Ellicottville Chamber. “Through Sysco’s continued support, we are able to continue to provide an exceptional experience for one of Ellicottville’s favorite family events.
Adding to the fun, participating restaurants have the option to choose a theme for their booth and decorate it in that theme.
“We’re adding a couple of new and fun features to this year’s event,” explained Wallace. “Voting for the Best Themed booth will take place Saturday along with awards in various food categories, decided upon by our official Taste judges. Staff are encouraged to dress up in theme as well, if they so choose.”
Another new feature to this year’s Taste: “Chef’s Corner”. Look for the main stage on Monroe Street, where participating vendors are invited to prepare one of their signature dishes “live” on stage for the crowd’s viewing pleasure.
“Local Chef Dean Metzger will lead the charge at Chef’s Corner, sizzling up his own culinary masterpiece and emcee’ing for the other chefs during their demonstrations,” said McFadden. “Event-goers will have the opportunity to see how some of Ellicottville’s signature dishes are made and ask the chefs questions.”
The event may be all about the food, but there’s so much more going on! Once you have reached your full capacity with all the mouthwatering flavors, the music in many of Ellicottville’s legendary hot spots will come alive! Make a weekend out of it and book an overnight stay at any of Ellicottville’s accommodations.
