Happy birthday to all you shiny Leos!
The energy of Leo the Lion is one of bravery, courage, fierceness, and is a ‘yang’ energy. We all have Leo in our personal chart, meaning it rules over one area of life. It is ruled by the sun, and as we know, all the planets revolve around the sun. We may know some Leos who feel the whole world revolves around them, or who may be a bit of a ‘drama queen.’
Leo energy is the performer as it rules the stage, entertainment, comedy, drama and fun. It also rules over creativity, love, innocence, children and joy. Think of several happy-go-lucky 4-year-olds running through the sprinkler on a blazing hot, August day; hearing their innocent laughter, squealing with delight. That is true Leo energy.
Enjoy the month, really make room for an overload of abundance, joy, laughter and creative expression. This is a fixed energy of mid-summer. Find activities that will bring loads of laughter and let that spread like wildfire - also a Leo energy, ruled by the sun, its element is fire. How about big bonfires, fireworks, going big, and really going for it … that’s how to spend your August. Living it up and being in the moment.
On the 11th, Venus (love, beauty, desires) moves into playful Leo and stays there til the end of the month. You may notice increased energy, gathering up the nerve to take a chance, being brave … putting yourself out there with a way that you shine! A good recommendation to support this energy is hitting up your favorite place for karaoke! Sign up for an activity, partake in a softball game, something active, maybe even a zipline at Holiday Valley! Make it something wild and fun!
On August 22nd we shift from wild and crazy Leo laughter to a more conservative, getting prepared, and perfectionist energy that is Virgo. We become more health conscious and have a feeling of getting back to work, school … getting back to business however that applies for you. We have a new moon in Virgo on August 27th, which can feel sobering, signaling a time to stop with the sugary summer drinks or the overindulgence of ice cream (my weakness) and pay more attention to our health and our ‘work.’ Virgo says, “The party is over, let’s get back to reality.” Label everything and let’s get organized.
And there is nothing wrong with getting organized; it’s always about letting things be in balance. Have fun and put your toys away. Then the cleanup isn’t so bad. Balance healthy food with the occasional ice cream. Summer is not over yet, so really do allow yourself to laugh and enjoy it with your favorite people!
