Many Local Programs Gifted by Holiday Valley

Last Friday, May 24th, Holiday Valley Resort presented donations totaling $11,000 to support various local organizations. From youth programming to town beautification, the funds were generated through the income from Fall Festival Chairlift Rides and Holiday Valley’s Winter Carnival SnowBar. Recipients receiving funding include:

Ellicottville Youth Soccer: A long-time staple in the community, the summer soccer program welcomes players ages 3-19. (Participants must be entering Pre-K in order to sign up for the youngest group.) The program offers a great opportunity for kids of all ages and skill levels to spend time outside, build friendships, and work on team skills. This season runs through the month of July, and registration is currently only open (until June 5th). If interested in getting your kids involved, please reach out to Ellicottville Youth Soccer via their Facebook page or Instagram.

Alley Katz: This local, non-profit organization is comprised of volunteer gardeners whose goal is to create a beautiful, scenic atmosphere for our village. They plant flowers and maintain the landscaping throughout the village, all for a beautiful Ellicottville. If you’ve been out and about in town and noticed the hanging baskets or lovely flower beds along the business district, that is the work of the Alley Katz. They’re a fabulous bunch of people who deserve all the recognition for their hard volunteer work.

Other donations were given to the Little League Football and Little League Baseball teams, and to the Great Valley Youth Program which runs Monday through Thursday starting after the July 4th holiday.

Despite a winter that was a little unusual, Holiday Valley still managed to offer a lot of support to the organizations here in our connected communities. So a huge shoutout goes out to Holiday Valley for all that they do to help out the various programs and the people who are a part of them.
