OLEAN - The Tri-County Arts Council recently announced Samantha Stock from Ellicottville Central School as the winner of the Outstanding High School Senior award. The award recognizes an outstanding high school senior graduating in 2023 who will be continuing their education at any college or university and pursuing studies in dance, fine arts, graphic design, music, or theater.

“Samantha Stock is a very talented artist who has put in a lot of time and effort into her artwork," said Tammy Eddy, 8-12 Counselor from Ellicottville Central School. "I feel Samantha is very deserving of this award. She is always kind to others and has a smile on her face daily. Samantha is well respected here at ECS by her peers as well as her teachers. She has been a positive role model for others throughout high school. Samantha plans to pursue her passion for art in college and would greatly benefit from this award."

This award comes with a $250 scholarship sponsored by Hedley Brook Insurance and Christie's Boutique.

"To say that we are living in an unprecedented time would be an understatement, and without the support of Hedley Brook Insurance and Christie's Boutique, this scholarship would not be possible," said Paula Bernstein. "Many thanks to these businesses for being community inspiration, in all its forms, is needed now more than ever before. We are hoping with additional business sponsorships from Allegany and Chautauqua counties, we can add two additional scholarships. TCAC will be having a scholarship for each county we serve as Allegany, Cattaraugus, and Chautauqua."
