Let’s See All the Great Ways You Can Celebrate Summer at the Resort


HillTAP FESTIVAL, SATURDAY JULY 27TH: The 42 North HillTAP Festival is a day of outdoor adventures, live music, great food, and of course, fantastic beer. The 4th annual will take place atop Spruce Lake and will allow guests to experience the natural beauty of the lake combined with all that the festival has to offer, including paddleboarding, mountain biking, axe throwing, food trucks and live music. Jump on the chairlift at noon and listen to Smilo & The Ghost play from 1:00-4:00pm at the Spruce Lake Cabin Stage. Take the lift back or hike down for a live performance by Miller & The Other Sinners at the Tannenbaum Stage beginning at 4:00pm, followed by Workingmans’ Dead at 6:00pm. Tickets: $50 per person the day of; children 10 and under are free when accompanied by a paying adult. Stay the night and enjoy all that Ellicottville has to offer! Discounted lodging rates for HillTAP attendees available.

CABANA BAR LIVE MUSIC, FRIDAYS: The Cabana Bar is THE PLACE to hang out on Friday evenings! With amazing views, vibes and libations, this covered outdoor bar is a great gathering spot when you and your buddies are in Ellicottville for the weekend. Friday’s Live Music Lineup for the remainder of the season will feature:

• August 2nd: Porcelain Train, 5:30-8:30pm

• August 9th: Campfire Junkie, 5:30-8:30pm

TAKE A POOL DAY, DAILY: Ellicottville may be known for its amazing landscape, but the nearby lakes and rivers offer endless summer fun. Kayaking, paddleboarding, and fishing are popular activities throughout the area. For those looking to relax, the serene waters of Spruce Lake provide a perfect backdrop for a peaceful day out. Holiday Valley’s pools, which include a water slide, diving board, and kiddie pool, are also great for cooling off and having some family fun.

SKY HIGH ADVENTURE PARK / CABIN FEVER, AUGUST 21ST: Holiday Valley Resort is a summer playground for all ages and interests! The 18-hole Double Black Diamond Golf Course challenges seasoned golfers while still being accessible for novices. Sky High is the largest aerial adventure park in New York State. Along with the aerial park, it features a climbing forest, gem mining for the little ones, and a mountain coaster! Zip through treetops, tackle obstacle courses, or enjoy a scenic ride down the coaster track. DEAL ALERT! Take advantage of $30 OFF your 3-hour climb during Cabin Fever (August 21st) when you get a voucher from Gear for Adventure (Hamburg and Amherst locations), The City Garage (Ellicottville), or Jamestown Cycle Shop. CHAIRLIFT RIDES, EVERY WEEKEND: Slow down the pace with a scenic chairlift ride to the top of Holiday Valley. The Spruce Lake lift is open Saturdays and Sundays through October 30th from 11:00am-5:00pm. Once you’re down exploring up top, you can opt to walk down the trail or ride the lift back down Cost is $12 per rider; children 6 and under are free. Purchase lift ride tickets at the Sky High Harness Shop. (Sorry, dogs are not allowed on the chairlift.)

HIKING & BIKING TRAILS: For those who crave adventure, Ellicottville’s extensive network of trails provides ample opportunities for hiking and biking. The Finger Lakes Trail runs through the region, offering scenic vistas and challenging terrains. Holiday Valley’s mountain bike trails are designed for many skill levels and gives you access to 35 miles of exceptional cross-country trails in McCarthy State Forest right at our doorstep! Whether you’re an experienced biker or a family looking for a leisurely ride, the trails here promise breathtaking views and plenty of fresh air. Peddle to the top of the resort, or on the weekends, purchase a ticket for a lift ride for you and your bike to go to Spruce Lake before you make your way to the trail network. (Note: Bikes must weigh under 60lbs. and be at least 24” to ride the lift.)
