ALLEGANY - HomeCare & Hospice Foundation is proud to announce it has received a $2,500 grant from the St. Elizabeth Mission Society to support ongoing education and training for its nursing staff. This funding will be used to enhance clinical skills, update equipment usage, and improve the overall quality of care for patients.

“At HomeCare & Hospice, we are committed to ensuring that our nurses and aides have the tools and training needed to provide the highest level of compassionate care,” said Melissa Sullivan, Chief Executive Officer. “This generous support from the St. Elizabeth Mission Society will directly benefit our healthcare workers, ultimately improving the lives of the patients and families we serve.”

The grant will impact both staff and patients, with over 50 nurses, aides, and clinical professionals receiving advanced training, and resources. This investment in professional development will not only enhance staff skills but also improve patient outcomes, minimize medical errors, and promote a more efficient and collaborative healthcare environment.

“We are delighted to support HomeCare & Hospice in their efforts to provide high-quality, compassionate care,” said Laura Whitford, President of St. Elizabeth Mission Society. “By investing in the education and development of their nursing staff, we are ensuring that patients receive the best possible care and support during life’s most challenging moments.”

The St. Elizabeth Mission Society, an extension of the Franciscan Sisters of Allegany, provides grants to programs that serve the most vulnerable members of the community. Their focus on healthcare, education, and community support aligns with HomeCare & Hospice’s mission to deliver exceptional, patient-centered care.

HomeCare & Hospice offers a licensed home care program that helps patients with short-term needs or chronic conditions maintain their independence and receive care in the comfort of their own homes. Additionally, the hospice program provides compassionate medical care and emotional support to patients and their families facing the challenges of a terminal illness.
