Join Allegany State Park as they celebrate National Public Lands Day with our 18th year of participation! National Public Lands Day is our nation’s largest one-day event designed to give people a chance to give back to the public lands they love by volunteering for a few hours on a variety of service projects that enhance both the park and the visitor experience. This year’s event takes place Saturday, September 23rd on the Red House side of the park. There will be numerous volunteer projects in the works with something for everyone to participate!

The day will start off with Check-in/Registration from 9:00am - 9:30am at the Beehunter Picnic pavilion. Service Projects will be from 9:30am - 3:00pm, followed by a picnic dinner at the Beehunter picnic pavilion area. Participants are asked to come dressed for the weather and expect to get dirty. This event will be held rain or shine. They ask that attendees pre-register by September 19th by contacting the Environmental Education/Recreation Department at 716-354-6232 or by emailing Randall.abbott@parks.ny.gov. They will gladly accept walk-in volunteers the day of the event. Please use the above contact or check out our Facebook page if you would like more information.
