Tickets On Sale for Little Eagles Fundraiser
The community will again come together on Saturday, July 29th when the Great Valley Firemen’s Clubhouse (6035 Depot Street) sets the stage for a Season Kick-Off BBQ Party to benefit the Ellicottville Little Eagles organization. Pre-sale tickets are now available!
“We are raising money to purchase some new equipment such as helmets and pads for the peewee and midget football players, new flags and belts for the flag football players and pompoms for the cheerleaders,” said Kristin Rocco, Ellicottville Little Eagles president. “We are also purchasing new jerseys and uniforms for both the football players and cheerleaders at all levels. It has been several years since we have been able to upgrade these things, so it is much needed! There will be a basket raffle, Little Eagles gear for sale, and a cornhole tournament to hopefully raise enough money to cover our needs for the season.”
Cost for the chicken BBW is $15 presale or $17 on the day of the event. Track down any Little Eagles player or cheerleader for presale tickets or contact ellicottvillelittleeagles@gmail.com to order from Kristin directly. Dinners will include a half chicken, two sides, roll and cookie. There will also be pop, beer and water available for purchase.
Like cornhole? There are still a few spots open in the day’s tournament. Cost is $25 per team of two. Reach out to the email above to secure your team. Prizes will be awarded for 1st through 3rd place. If cornhole isn’t your thing, there will also be a number of yard games and other kid-friendly activities.
The three-piece classic rock band, Remedy, will take the stage at 2:00pm. You may recognize them from playing locally in Salamanca, Bradford and Great Valley (their home base). The band’s focus is fun with a capital F.U.N.!
“We are looking for community and local business support with our basket raffle,” said Kristin. “Any big-ticket items, baskets of goods or gift cards that can be donated would be greatly appreciated. All the proceeds from the raffle will benefit the equipment and uniform fund. Monetary donations are also accepted and appreciated.”
Keep in mind that even though the raffle tickets, chicken BBQ and drink tickets are paid items, the rest of the event is FREE to attend. According to Kristin, the goal is to make this an annual fundraising event, so mark your calendar and plan to come support the local youth league. Help these kids get some new gear! As Kristin says, “They work so hard and take such pride in their sport - let’s keep them safe and looking good while doing it!”
