The Silver Fox offering special dinner and a show; make your reservations

An evening of fine cuisine and wine with a hint of spectacular is set to take center stage at The Silver Fox Steakhouse in Ellicottville next month. Four magicians will be the main course to a two-hour show accommodated by an exclusive dinner to take place on Saturday, November 13th.

Jim O'Neill, who began fiddling with card decks from the age of six, will be leading the show. Partnering with him are three local magicians with experience in all departments of hocus-pocus. Their goal? To leave you pondering over what’s better - what you ate or what you just saw.

“I’m very excited to entertain the folks over in Ellicottville,” O'Neill said. “I learned magic at the forks hotel in Cheektowaga, NY from Eddie Fechter and Karl Norman where I spent most of my weekends. I performed magic over the years while bartending at numerous restaurants and bars. You can expect fantastic close-up magic from some of western New York’s top magicians.”

Close-up magic is an intimate setting type of magic where performers cater to a guest table to pull-off a variety of different tricks, all in proximity from where you’re seated.

Followed by cocktail hour, each guest table will have a chance to interact with the magicians for an extended period of time while they rotate to and perform from all angles of the restaurant.

To compliment the mystical acts, The Silver Fox has laid out three different main courses to choose from. Lombardian-inspired ‘Pork Osso Bucco,’ a rich yet succulent ‘Chicken Cordon Bleu’ and ‘Fresh Grouper’ covered in finely crusted pistachio. All flattered by a bottle of house-made wine.

While it hosted several themed events in the past, The Silver Fox has never dealt with magic before. Nevertheless, the steakhouse’s owner, Michael Nickolson, is excited to bring O'Neill’s expertise to Ellicottville.

“This is a completely new and different adventure for us,” Nickolson said. “The show should be top notch; I don’t think anyone in the village has done something like this before. It’s unique. It’s not every day you get to chat and mingle with magicians over a plate of food.”

Without spoiling the whole show, guests should expect to experience an array of different magic acts such as coin illusions, card deck tricks, rope magic, along with stand-up performances.

“I hope they can come here with the intention that they will be amazed,” O'Neill said. “I can’t divulge every trick, but I can promise it will be an extremely pleasant night of top-shelf magic.”

Reservations for this special dinner is $95 per person and are available now by calling The Silver Fox at 716-699-4672.
