On-Hill Events: Holiday Valley
Ah, the crispness of autumn in Ellicottville! The Ellicottville Fall Festival at Holiday Valley is where autumnal charm meets lively festivity. As the vibrant hues blanket the town, the festival provides visitors with a range of activities, each more delightful than the last. Taking place October 12-13, 2024, the festival promises a weekend full of activities for the whole family. From chairlift rides to mountain top cookouts, the event is a celebration of the fall season and the vibrant community of Ellicottville. Let’s see what Holiday Valley Resort will be offering…
SCENIC CHAIRLIFT RIDES
Chairlift rides offer breathtaking views of the surrounding fall foliage that can’t be beat! Hop on the Spruce Lake chairlift where, once up top, you can immerse yourself in the beauty of Spruce Lake and the surrounding network of hiking and mountain biking trails. Or choose the Mardi Gras 6 lift located at the Main Lodge. This ride will take you to a Mountain Top Cookout and live music! (Please keep in mind that dogs, backpacks, and coolers are not allowed on the chairlift.)
Be Smart with Your Lift Ticket: Both lifts will run Saturday and Sunday (Spruce 11:00am-5:00pm, Mardi Gras noon-4:00pm). Cost is $12 per rider; all Classic passholders and children age 6 and under are free! Purchase your chairlift ticket in advance online at holidayvalley.com to expedite your autumn adventure!
Dress Smartly: The unpredictable October weather calls for layered clothing. It’s always better to be prepared for any climate surprises. Hey ladies, leave the heels for the night life. Comfortable footwear is a must, especially if you’re inclined to hike.
Top of Mardi Gras Special: This year welcomes back food, drinks, and music with the Tommy Z Band on Saturday and Porcelain Train Band on Sunday at the top of Mardi Gras. Remember, it’s cash-only for food and drinks, but there’s an ATM for your convenience.
