Springville Center for the Arts (SCA) presents a Kids’ Open House on Saturday, November 9th from 6:30-8pm. There will be a family friendly tour of the historical church building, complimentary refreshments, and an activity guided excursion of the Harold L. Olmsted gallery space.

Parents will accompany their children as they engage in creative investigation, welcoming them to explore what the gallery is and learn how to make SCA their own through interaction, movement, and hands-on activities. “The kids open house is a great way for families to get to know more about our programs,” says Seth Wochensky, Executive Director of Springville Center for the Arts. All families are welcome with children anywhere from elementary to the high school level.

The gallery received its name from the late Harold Leroy Olmsted, a noble figure and artist in the community. Known as the “Sage of Springville,” the Center for the Arts dedicated their space to him in 2010, forging his legacy through featured work by local artists. The exhibit Fiber = Art by Karen Hull Sienk, running from November 6th-28th, displays fabric as a means of artistic impression. Juried a Roycroft Master Artisan in 2019, Sienk has featured works published in a variety of quilting books/magazines.

As a catalyst for creative inspiration and development, Springville Center for the Arts actively engages the community through concerts, theater productions, gallery exhibits, workshops for all ages, family friendly events, and more. Building a culture of appreciation for the arts is the mission of the nonprofit organization, fueling programs with opportunities made for everyone to enjoy.

Springville Center for the Arts values artistic expression among all ages. For more information on the Center and its offerings, attend the Kids Open House on Saturday, November 9th from 6:30-8pm at 37 North Buffalo St, Springville NY. To answer any immediate questions, call 716.592.9038
