OLEAN - The Greater Olean Hospitality Committee invites you to decide which chef's cuisine will rule supreme this November! Mark your calendar for Sunday, November 10th when the Professional Chefs Game Day Dinner takes over Napoli Pizza in Olean. "Inspired by Food Network’s Iron Chef, our event features chefs competing head-to-head with signature dishes from their restaurants," shared committee member Joe Marra.
Tickets are $150 for two and include unlimited game day fare prepared by the chefs, two drink tickets, four judging tickets, and a chance to win one of three exciting prizes: a grand prize of $3,000 cash, a 65" flat-screen TV, or $150. Participating eateries include Brother’s Bistro, Old Library Restaurant, Green Acres, Hometown Grill, Beef n’ Barrel Restaurant, La Dolce Vita, Napoli Pizza, Pasta Louie, Randy’s Fireside, Angee’s Restaurant, Clark’s Sub, Kopper Keg, Third Base Bar & Grill, Toad’s Butcher Shop, J-Allen’s Bar and Grill, Moose’s Hardwood BBQ, Century Manor, The Eatery, Sprague’s Maple Farms, and Ann Marie's Homemade Baklava.
Attendees will judge the competition, crowning one chef the Game Day Master Chef 2024. The winner will have their name engraved on the Hospitality Trophy, receive a $100 cash prize, and take home an engraved Cutco Cleaver.
The event is limited to 100 tickets (200 guests), and more than half have already been sold. "We’d love to go into the week completely sold out!" added Marra.
Proceeds will support the Hospitality Scholarship Fund through the Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation. "Donations are welcome to help the fund reach endowment level," Marra noted. Information on how to contribute can be found online at bit.ly/46ErVMO.
The Greater Olean Hospitality Committee originated from the Taste of Olean Hospitality Wall of Fame. After the Taste event concluded, the committee led a fundraising effort to establish the Greater Olean Hospitality Sculpture, which celebrates the enduring legacy of the local hospitality industry. With that project completed, the committee has shifted its focus to endowing the Greater Olean Area Hospitality Scholarship, which will annually recognize a local high school student pursuing a career in the hospitality field. Establishing this endowed scholarship will mark the culmination of the committee's dedication to an industry deeply rooted in the community, serving as a lasting tribute to its history, resilience, and the people who have shaped it.
