Take a United Stand Against Child Abuse

April Marks National Child Abuse Prevention Month

April marks National Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) Month, an initiative led by Prevent Child Abuse America (PCA America) and its national network of state chapters. This year, we embrace the theme “Building A Hopeful Future, Together,” focusing on creating a nurturing and supportive environment for children and families across the nation.

Empowering Communities, Supporting Families: At Prevent Child Abuse America, we believe in the power of prevention and the strength of community support. We are dedicated to ensuring that all children grow up in environments that are safe, stable and nurturing. Our mission is to address the structural and social determinants of health and well-being, including poverty and systemic racism, to create a more equitable society where every child thrives.

Building a Hopeful Future Together: Child abuse and neglect are preventable, and all communities benefit when children and families are well supported! For this year’s Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) month awareness and impact campaign, we acknowledge the crucial connection between a happy childhood and a hopeful future for every child and recommit to working together with our national network of state chapters to ensure all children and families have the resources and support they need to reach their full potential. Join us in advocating for happy homes as the foundation for a brighter tomorrow. Together, let’s ensure that every child has the nurturing environment they deserve for a better future.

Your Role in Prevention: This month, and all year long, you can help Prevent Child Abuse America advance family centered prevention programs and policies by taking action in the following ways. Join the Movement.
