EVL Hair Lounge Opens in Former Enix Salon Space, Now Open For Business
It’s the time of year, not just for giving, but also for reflection. We’re heading into 2024 and making changes, growing, adapting - that’s what it’s all about. And that’s exactly what spurred local business owner, Trina Phillippi into reforming her space. EVL Hair Lounge is now open at 5 E. Washington Street in Ellicottville, in the former Enix Salon location.
The layout has been updated and the decor has undergone some changes, but what remains the same is Trina’s approach to a great experience. What sets the Hair Lounge apart from other salons? Trina said, “EVL Hair Lounge is a full concept Aveda salon. Aveda is a 97-99% plant derived company. It is also 100% vegan and cruelty-free, operating off of 100% wind power. Aveda gives back to society and establishes a community with the ingredients of their products.”
Trina knows what she’s doing. She’s been working in the industry with Aveda products for almost 20 years. She started right out of high school, attending Cosmetology courses at Ellicottville CABOCES. The services the salon will be offering include hair coloring, (including bright colors), lightening services such as foiling and balayage techniques, hair cutting for all hair types/lengths and even hair extensions. “Besides Aveda, extensions have been a new passion of mine. I have been working with extensions since 2020 and plan to grow more with these services as well. I am extension certified by Bellami Professional in 4 different extension techniques for different approaches into adding more hair into your natural look. Extensions can be used to add length, volume and create a more unified, overall look to your desired everyday style. Extensions are also a great way to add a pop of color without damaging the natural hair with lightening processes.”
She’s got a lot services to offer, that’s for sure. But what’s Trina’s favorite? She said, “Throughout my career, I've found a love and passion in long hair, blonding techniques and men's hair cutting.”
Trina let us know the new hours of operation and how one should go about booking their appointment. “Our hours are Monday 3:00-7:00pm; Tuesday and Wednesday 10:00am-7:00pm; Thursday 12:00-7:00pm; Friday 9:00am-2:00pm; closed Saturday and Sunday. Services should be booked at least a week in advance to get a guaranteed spot. When booking an appointment, there is a required 24-hour notice of cancellation or full price of the appointment is owed before another service can be rescheduled.”
With all the new happenings at the salon, Trina has plenty to keep her busy, but she does have her eye on the future as well. “Looking ahead into 2024, I will be seeking out new stylists for hire. Aiming to grow! I do not have any events planned at the moment, but from time to time I do like to get raffles and contests going! That’s always fun in the salon!”
She ended with, “The salon is a relaxed environment that offers complimentary coffee, tea, water and other beverages. I've designed the space with plenty of room to bring your spouse, best friend, sisters, bros, neighbors and even your dog!
