3rd Annual National Kofi Day of Service

Nation-Wide Volunteering Event Coincides with #GivingTuesday this November

On November 28th, the 3rd Annual Kofi Burbridge Day of Service will take place. This is a nation-wide volunteering event in honor of Kofi, who was an inspirational artist that generously shared his musical gift with countless fans.

This year’s event is being held on #GivingTuesday, a globally celebrated day designated to inspire acts of generosity around the world. They have partnered with non-profit organizations in 15 cities to create a unique community-based volunteer opportunity for the Tedeschi Truck Band family.

Ellicottville’s own Nick Pitillo, owner of Villaggio in Ellicottville and Osteria 166 in Buffalo is thrilled to return to FeedMore WNY where they will be sorting, inspecting and repacking food. In 2022 they sorted items for Emergency Food Kits and Blizzard Boxes.

Thanks to everyone who volunteered and to each and every person who brought food to Tedeschi Trucks Band's 2022 performance at ArtPark, together they donated over one ton of food for Western New York families in need. And they are hoping to do the same again this year.

Currently there are no positions remaining to be filled for this year’s event. But there is a waitlist you can join (givepulse.com), in case you are needed. Do keep in mind that volunteers must be over 12 years of age and be able to lift light-weight to medium-weight boxes. Bottled water is provided to volunteers and there is a break room to keep food and other beverages.

Even if you aren’t able to volunteer or cannot attend one of their sponsored events, they still encourage you to make a positive impact in your community. They invite you to get involved with WhyHunger by updating their Find Food database or with the Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation by making a donation to the Kofi Burbridge Fund.

The goal is really about helping the people in our communities have a better quality of life, so this #GivingTuesday let’s help FeedMoreWNY give back during the Kofi Day of Service!
