OLEAN - Not since January 2022 has the staff at Greater Olean Area Chamber of Commerce been at four employees. Christine Boser joined GOACC as administrative assistant on Monday, July 17, 2023 and Lyndsey Churakos as membership services manager on Tuesday, September 5, 2023.

“When our full-time administrative assistant left us in February 2022 for other employment, the staff went to three full-time. Then we had a turnover in our membership position in 2023, and that left us with two staff for more than 6 weeks. It was a relief when we were able to fill these two positions within 2 months of each other,” stated Meme K. Yanetsko, GOACC COO.

“Christine is our administrative assistant but really she is our First Impressions Officer; Christine brings her natural friendly demeanor and charm to the position,” added Yanetsko. Christine has been in the banking industry serving in many positions up to branch manager. As her children were born, Christine was then employed as a mom and bringing up her children.

Lyndsey brings many years of experience from the hospitality industry working at Hometown Bar & Grill and The Old Library Restaurant. Through those positions, she can manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. “As our member manager, Lyndsey will focus on the needs of our members. This includes counseling, provision of information services, retention and expansion, networking, and other activities including facilitation of major events that benefit members,” reported Yanetsko.

Carol Palidar was hired in April 2022 as GOACC’s Fiscal Support Manager. She came to GOACC from the Olean Wholesale Grocery/C&S Grocers/FMS accounting department where she had spent many years as a senior accountant. “Her wealth of knowledge and experience in accounting, payroll, and bookkeeping has been a welcome addition to the chamber staff,” said Yanetsko. “You may have seen Carol around this past year and a half at the office scowling at her computer screen as she balances accounts, in the front office smiling as she waits on customers or out at an event selling raffle tickets, assisting at the chamber booth, or driving around town running errands.”

GOACC has been the leading business organization in the greater Olean area. As the Southern Tier’s largest business organization, their work includes developing programs, enhancing workforce development, and working to support the small business owners, large corporate entities, non-profit organizations, manufacturers, and residents who call this area home.
