2020 Village Election Results

ELLICOTTVILLE, NY - The March 2020 Village Elections were postponed until September 15, 2020 per Executive Order 202.4. Below are unofficial results from the Village of Ellicottville Election, held Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2020:

Incumbent Mayor John A. Burrell (Republican, New Village) will serve another 4-year term as Mayor, beating challenger William Coolidge (Village Strong) with a vote of 81-39.

Two seats available for Trustee (4-year term each) will be filled by Douglas Bush (102 votes) and Edward Imhoff (92 votes), both unopposed.

In a statement to ellicottvilleNOW from Mayor Burrell, “I am humbled. I received 67.5% of the votes cast. Thank you to all the voters who voted for me and the people who worked so hard for me. I’m very anxious to work with my new Board members, Ed Imhoff, Doug Bush and Sean Lowes (new appointment for Spencer Murray’s position). Greg Cappelli and I are ecstatic to have these three working alongside us. We, as a Board, have some big challenges ahead, starting with Short Term Rentals - that will come to fruition hopefully in October. We are looking forward to our annual Organizational meeting on Tuesday, September 29th.”
