Catt. Co. Throws Its Hat In The Ring to Lure Amazon

ELLICOTTVILLE, NY - Count Cattaraugus County as another region in Western New York that would gladly welcome Amazon’s proposed transportation logistics warehouse to its community. Cattaraugus County Industrial Development Agency Executive Director Corey Wiktor has been reaching out to officials associated with the Amazon project touting the benefits of the county in the hopes of luring the company to the Southern Tier.

“We have some ideal locations that would be a perfect fit for the proposed warehouse and we would welcome the opportunity to show these properties to Amazon and their representatives,” Wiktor said. “Our proximity to Southern Erie County and Northern Pennsylvania would provide a strong labor pool for Amazon to meet its hiring requirements.”

Cattaraugus County also boasts an excellent transportation system with easy access to Buffalo and Erie County and points east via Route 219 to the US Interstate 90 exchange as well as to Northern Pennsylvania and across the Southern Tier to New York City and New Jersey through US Interstate 86.

“We realize there are a number of other communities that would welcome Amazon, but we thought it was important to throw our hat in the ring to let Amazon know that the company would be warmly welcomed in Cattaraugus County,” Wiktor continued. “At the very least, it’s my hope that this show of support from our county and others demonstrates that Western New York wants Amazon to build here.”
