Boot Drive for Roswell

Boot Drive for Roswell

Every summer Roswell Comprehensive Cancer Center hosts the Ride For Roswell and the Empire State Ride. Both events raise awareness of cancer screenings and much needed funding for cancer research. This Saturday, May 28th, you can support these efforts from the comfort of your vehicle right here in Ellicottville.  A group of local bicyclers will be holding a Boot Drive at the intersection of Routes 219 and 242 (by Tim Horton’s) starting at 8:00am.

“Those of us doing the Boot Drive will either be participating in the Ride For Roswell on June 25th, a 1-day event, or The Empire State Ride, which is a 7-day ride starting in Staten Island and ending in Niagara Falls - a total of 568 miles!” said Nicole Barrile-Drake, who is helping to organize this Saturday’s fundraiser. “Most, including my husband and me, are participating in both!”

All donations received have the potential to be matched 13:1 by grants and other funding, so no matter how big or small your donation, it all adds up!  To make Saturday’s Boot Drive an even bigger success, EVL Cannabis Club of Salamanca is planning to donate a portion of their proceeds from their Memorial Day event (also scheduled for this Saturday).  A great example of businesses and community members working together for the greater good!
