Earth Day Cleanup Success
ELLICOTTVILLE - Despite the cool temperatures, the Rotary Club of Ellicottville collaborated with ERA Team VP Real Estate for a very successful village cleanup this past Saturday, April 27th, held in recognition of Earth Day and the Rotary District 7090 Great Lakes Watershed Project.
Clean up supplies were provided by Rotary Club members and Holiday Valley Resort, and the Town of Ellicottville Public Works disposed of the collected garbage. Labor was provided by the Rotary Club members and ERA sales agents. In addition to cleaning the main downtown section of the village including the banks of Elk and Great Valley Creeks, the group went to the intersection of Routes 219 and 242 in the vacant lot next to Tim Horton’s.
The task would certainly have been more daunting if not for the way Ellicottville keeps itself a clean community with the help of local restaurants and businesses and the Alley Katz organization which cleans and maintains flowers and plant beds throughout the downtown area. The Rotary Club would like to thank all who helped, and they plan to do this cleanup on an annual basis.
