Every First Sunday of the Month, Kids Can Go On A Reading Adventure at Audubon Center

The first Sunday of every month you and your favorite 2–8 year old(s) can go on nature reading adventures at Audubon Community Nature Center’s First Sunday Story Time. JAMESTOWN – You and the special 2-8 year old(s) in your life can go on literary adventures with animals through habitats and seasons Audubon Community Nature Center’s First Sunday Story Time. Discovering new things with every page, children’s books are powerful tools to connect children to nature and establish a strong foundation for their educational journey.

Nature Center doors open at 12:20pm for the 12:30–1:00pm event on Sunday, March 2nd. Doors open to the public at 1:00pm. The program and Sunday admission are both free. Come for stories and stay to visit the live animals, indoors and out, as well as 14-foot-long Sara the Spotted Salamander and her friend Tank, the 1,500-pound concrete turtle, in the outdoor Nature Play Area. Reservations for Story Time are requested by Saturday, April 5th. To reserve your space, call the Nature Center during open hours at 716-569-2345 or go to AudubonCNC.org/events. Participation is limited to 15. Walk-ins are welcome if there is room.

Audubon Community Nature Center is located at 1600 Riverside Road, one-quarter mile east of Route 62 between Jamestown, NY and Warren, PA. You can visit the nearly 600-acre nature preserve, check in on the live birds of prey, and hike the more than five miles of trails dawn until dusk daily for free. 

The three-story Nature Center building houses interactive displays, a collection of live animals including the Hellbender exhibit, and the Blue Heron Gift Shop. Visitors are welcome Mondays through Saturdays 10:00am-4:30pm, and Sundays 1:00-4:30pm. Nature Center members and SNAP/EBT cardholders have free building admission daily. Building admission is also free every Sunday for non-Nature Center members.
