A Car Show With a Purpose

Annual event at Ellicottville Distillery supports Oishei’s Children’s Hospital

Spring has melted (almost literally) into summer and that gets us excited for some great local events. One in particular that we are looking forward to is the Annual Classic Car Show at the Ellicottville Distillery, coming up on Sunday, June 23rd from 10:00am-4:00pm.

Take a drive out to 5462 Robbins Road in Ellicottville, NY for a day that promises to be fun for the entire family. The well-manicured distillery lawn will showcase vintage, antique and stylish cars from 10:00am-4:00pm. Perhaps you want to enter into the show yourself. Co-owner Renee Scharf stated, “We are always happy to see new faces and different cars. Anyone with any kind of classic, vintage or custom car of any sort is more than welcome to drive down or be trailered to our show.”

The cost of entering your car into the show is just $15 and there is a chance your sweet ride could be picked to win the Best of Show trophy or one of the other categories on the list. “We always have a great crowd of spectators who come just to see all the different cars, and it is the people’s votes that decide who wins,” Renee explained.

And your entry fee is also an opportunity for you to give back, as all the proceeds from the event are donated directly to Oishei Children’s Hospital in Buffalo, NY. Oishei’s is dedicated to providing services that show excellence and compassion for the children in our region and they pride themselves on working closely with parents/legal guardians. Their policy is to promote patient and family-centered care. So not only are you showing off your wheels at the Distillery’s Classic Car Show, but you’re helping WNY families at the same time.

Yes, the Classic Car Show is awesome, but it gets even better! Add in a 50/50 raffle, refreshing cocktails that the Distillery itself creates, good food, and live entertainment, and it’s the perfect summer experience!

THE FOOD: The 2 Buck-a-Roos Foodtruck will be on-site, offering up an array of sandwiches like classic grilled cheese, hamburgers and cheeseburgers. Can’t decide? You don’t have to! They have a Grilled Cheese Cheeseburger, where two grilled sandwiches become the buns for their juicy beef patty. Sometimes there’s even a quesadilla option. Their menu also boasts sweet potato fries, pizza logs and mozzarella sticks.

THE MUSIC: Locally known favorites, The Chillibillys, will be rocking the stage from 2:00-5:00pm. This duo has been playing all over western NY and northern PA for many years. They can perform it all - from background music to dance party favorites. They cover acoustic versions of Classic Rock, Southern Rock, Country, Blues and more. They are all about crowd satisfaction! As Renee says, “They are just all around great people; they really know how to get the crowd going. It’s always a pleasure to host them.”

After the car show is over, mark your calendar for the day before Independence Day. The Distillery will be launching their annual fireworks display on July 3rd, when the sun goes down. Everyone is welcome to come out and spend some time at the bar in anticipation of the show. Also keep an eye on Ellicottville Distillery’s Facebook event page for their Sunday Summer Music Series performances which begin on Father’s Day, June 16th. And get ready for their Distilled & Chilled Music Festival in August.

The Ellicottville Distillery is open Thursday 3:00-7:00pm, Friday 1:00-8:00pm, Saturday 12:00-9:00pm and Sunday 12:00-6:00pm. Visit their website at ellicottvilledisitllery.com for more information. And if you’d like to register a vehicle for the Classic Car Show, call 760-900-4841. Renee had one last thing to share with us: “We are just hoping for fantastic weather and for everyone to come out and join us for a great time!”
