Ski 4 A Cure
ELLICOTTVILLE — It’s time to hit the slopes for a great cause. HoliMont Resort and the Ski Club of Lockport (SCOL) will host the 3rd Annual Ski 4 a Cure on Friday, February 14th from from 9:00am to 4:30pm to benefit Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.
The funds raised by Ski 4 a Cure will go towards the hospital’s most pressing needs, which include accelerating promising research and clinical trials in immunotherapy, which is one of Roswell Park’s highest and most urgent priorities; helping over 50+ donor-funded quality of life programs; and creating 2,200 (and counting) wigs and head coverings provided to patients through Elevate Salon. For every dollar generated to cancer research, Rowell Park is now able to leverage an additional $23 from external grants toward their research… and so much more! “Together we can change cancer as we know it!”
The registration fee is just $130 (now through Jan. 31st) then will bump up to $135 from Feb. 1st through the day of the event (Feb. 14th). This fee includes an all-day lift ticket, lunch catered by Dina’s, free demos from The City Garage, and fun daily activities such as the Survivors downhill parade, scavenger hunt, the infamous Bombardier Ball Drop, a timed race, 50/50, basket raffles and plenty of event prizes too!
Even if you aren’t a skier or snowboarder, you can still participate in this year’s Ski 4 a Cure. Cross-country skis or snowshoes also work and limited rental equipment is available if needed. It’s also never too early to kickstart your fundraising with a self-donation or through your own fundraising efforts. No donation is too small. Every dollar adds up to something greater than anyone could accomplish alone.
For questions or more information, or if you would like to donate an item for the basket raffles, contact Ski Club of Lockport member Tom Doran at 716-691-6089 or email ski4acure@gmail.com.
