Good for the Spirt Gifts Celebrates 2nd Year Anniversary and Readies for Expansion

Ellicottville is full of wonderful, eclectic shops, unique decor and lovely clothing, but it was missing a metaphysical touch. That is, until Good for the Spirit Gifts opened their doors in 2021 at 11 Martha Street. They brought with them crystals of all kinds, for all purposes, sound bathing, ornate jewelry, dreamcatchers and so much more. Owner Rev. Suzy Woo, B.Msc and her team are proud of what they’ve accomplished thus far and have big plans for the future.

Suzy feels that the strongest accomplishment they’ve made over the time they’ve been open is getting on the map. “People search for crystal shops and the shop shows up. People search for a healer or a psychic and I show up. We don't have the budget for billboards; we are growing organically and it's been slow and but steady.”

Over their time in Ellicottville, their team has become solid. “I love my team,” said Suzy. “Both of my girls have been with me over a year now. Dawn very quickly moved up and has moved into the role of store manager. She handles most of the day-to-day operations, which gives me the freedom to conduct my off-site events like the Lion's Gate retreat, festivals and so forth. Renee is our social media manager. She crushes it with gorgeous, colorful, creative, visually appealing and wonderfully inviting posts. Both are terrific at helping our customers find just what they are looking for. They are both Virgos; they keep everything nice and organized, clean and tidy. I love them.”

And it’s a good thing Dawn and Renee can handle the shop on a day-to-day basis because Suzy herself has been very busy. “September 1, 2023 brought me one of the biggest business milestones to date. I received a double M/WBE Certification from New York State. I'm listed in a state directory qualifying me to land contracts with various levels of the government for holistic counseling, individual and family social services, self-help and religious services. It's a really big deal because I want to educate the world about consciousness medicine and quantum mechanics, which is what I practice as an energy medicine practitioner.”

Prior to that, at the end of June Suzy received her Mindvalley Life Coaching Certification. “I'm getting ready to release a 'Breakthrough Bundle’ - a package deal which combines coaching and energy work,” she said. “I've been testing it out with clients and it is producing mind-blowing, life-changing results. For example, these clients are having epiphanies revealing purpose, getting out of long-term, unhealthy relationships, creating healthy boundaries, and experiencing breakthroughs of a lifetime. Even chronic health conditions are greatly minimized or dissolved completely!

Good for the Spirit Gifts is an amazing place, not just as a shop but as a destination for peace of mind. Things are looking bright and Suzy and her team are looking to make big changes in the near future. As she explains, growth has been something that is a constant, but she does have an end goal. Her vision: a holistic wellness community center, with on-site lodging, healthy menu chefs, seed-to-table farming, a self-contained ecosystem, a library/resource department, an observatory, labyrinth, chapel (she is a wedding officiant), with multiple offices for practitioners of varying disciplines.

“This would give the healers that just graduated my certification course their own office to practice and grow their own business,” Suzy said. “We will have practitioners and classes to include yoga, exercise, physique training, creative arts, therapy art, self-development, family holistic counseling, intuitive training, coaching, nutrition, and self-care, with a strong focus on self-value, community and contribution.

“It is the next logical step in our growth. I have hit my ceiling as far as my square footage goes. It's heartbreaking to know there are tens of thousands of dollars of therapy equipment that is sitting, unable to be used, because I've run out of space in my current location. Now that I have the M/WBE Certification, I intend to complete the business plan and impact statement so all this wonderful equipment and resources can be utilitized; and work with the three counties to see what kinds of incentives and possible grants we might be eligible for. I would love to add an education component and partner with a college to measure the impact of consciousness medicine, quantum medicine, and the importance of grounding, eating natural foods, consuming living water, having a sense of purpose as well as community/oneness.”

Suzy has been holding retreats since 2019 and as she describes, “it’s exhaustive in every sense to sub out every single need. The conference room space, meals, lodging, taxes and gratuity adds up fast. Being charged over $120 to rent a projection screen is ludicrous. I own all my own equipment already. To put on my retreat, I have to hoist over $20,000 of gear, tools and equipment, much of which is fragile and/or heavy, for a weekend. This last event I did, one of my large quartz singing bowls in a tuned set became cracked overnight and I was unable to use it. It's a $900 set of bowls that I can't just replace the (broken) one, because they are all tuned to one another. Last year, a designer $3,700 Leandro deSouza "One Love" crystal carving fell over and broke. Things get damaged in the setup - it's never during the event. What I need to do is painfully clear. Stop going external and create the center so everything can stay on-site under one roof and it can all be managed from one single point. This will be a dream come true, and I will make it happen.”

While we are waiting for this impressive expansion, the shop will continue on as always. You can stop in and visit Suzy, Dawn and Renee (or come in to take a break in the CHI Chair - Crystal Healing Immersion - which is surrounded by over 200 lbs. of aura cleansing crystals seven days a week, starting each day at 11:00am. Closing time is 6:00pm every day but Sunday, when lights go down at 5:00pm. If you are looking for something specific or have any questions on healing services, you can call 716-699-2871. And don’t forget to check out the website at goodforthespiritgifts.com for all your metaphysical needs. For Suzy's offerings, please visit www.suzy-woo.com.
