Art Market This Weekend
OLEAN - The Tri-County Arts Council is pleased to welcome the community to the inaugural Ellicottville Fine Art and Craft Market in Ellicottville NY, on the lawn of the 1887 Building (corner of Washington and Jefferson Streets) on this Saturday and Sunday, September 2nd-3rd from 11:00am-5:00pm, both days. This event is a partnership between the Tri-County Arts Council (TCAC), Ellicottville Chamber of Commerce, and the Rotary Club of Ellicottville.
This juried show features the work of some of the region’s best known artists and fine craftspeople, many of whom also have international reputations in galleries and fine art shows throughout the United States and abroad. An intimate evening of fine arts and crafts, Ellicottville Fine Art and Craft Market is an opportunity to add to or begin an art collection, purchase a one-of-a-kind gift, and meet the artists and makers behind an impressive collection of works.
Indeed, the Tri-County Arts Council is composed of member artists and craftspeople who reside in Allegany, Cattaraugus, and Chautauqua counties. Many of those members will be part of the Ellicottville Fine Art and Craft Market, including fine artist Sean Huntington, TCAC Exhibitions Coordinator. “We want to expose the residents and visitors of Ellicottville to the amazing talent that this region has to offer. Plus buying from local artists that you can actually meet and form a relationship with is so much more satisfying than getting some anonymous art from a big box store. Fill your home with pieces that mean something to you!”
The TCAC, in collaboration with the Ellicottville Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club of Ellicottville, welcome the public to this new event where people who appreciate real creative talent will have the opportunity to meet local fine artists and craftspeople whose works play an important role in promoting economic growth in their communities.
Approximately 20 artists and crafters from Allegany, Cattaraugus and Chautauqua counties, as well as Wellsboro, Pa. are participating in the market including painters Huntington, Judson Brown, Robin Zefers Clark, Denise Drummond and Mikel Wintermantel; Theresa Heinz, mixed media; Michael Weishan, photography; Eileen Weishan, fiber art; jewelry artists Bonnie Hedden, Lisa Hodge and Kaylee Taylor; Keith McKale, wood carvings and sculpture; Michelle Hoff and Karen Fitzpatrick, mosaics and glass; John Crandall, leather; and potters Pam Gifford, Ed Green and Peter Midgley.
The Fine Art and Craft Market will be held rain or shine. There is no admission charge. For more details, visit https://www.tricountyartscouncil.org/ellicottville-fine-arts/.
OLEAN LANDMARKS
Also, for years, area residents have admired Marilyn Reynolds’ paintings of Olean landmarks and more that are displayed in private homes, businesses, and organizations throughout the community. The well-known Portville artist recently brought in over 50 pieces, some original and some prints, to the Tri-County Arts Council at 110 West State Street in Olean. We currently have prints of the Chuck Wagon, Olean High School, Village Green, Sprague’s, and many more. Marilyn and her family have been staunch supporters of the arts and especially the Tri-County Arts Council. We are truly grateful for their support and the endless inspiration Marilyn provided with her boundless spirit.
With support and help from Marilyn, TCAC will be selling her artwork for a short time longer; they are available for sale, as is. Reynolds’s watercolors are available for sale including images of Olean and surrounding areas and portraits of nature with fruits, vegetables, and flowers. TCAC will be displaying her work as a pop-up market. Her work will be available for sale in the market and online. All pieces are available online for purchase for pick-up or shipping.
