ELLICOTTVILLE - A full weekend of exhilarating sportsmanship is set to take place September 21st and 22nd when Ellicottville hosts the highly anticipated Lacrosse Festival. This two-day event promises to bring together lacrosse players of all ages and skill levels from across the Northeast region for a series of friendly competition and lots of fun.

Organized by Ryan Powell of Powell Lacrosse, Summit Lacrosse Ventures, and the Ellicottville Chamber of Commerce, the Ellicottville Lacrosse Festival is more than just a series of games - it’s a celebration of the sport and a unique opportunity for families to experience everything our town has to offer. From the youngest novices to seasoned veterans, players will have the chance to showcase their skills, make new friends, and enjoy the thrill of the game, then saunter into town to take in the vibe of our bustling business district.

“Families accompanying players will find plenty to keep them entertained throughout the weekend,” said Brian McFadden, Executive Director of the Ellicottville Chamber of Commerce. “Our town is ready to roll out the red carpet with an array of activities, dining options, and shopping experiences. Whether you’re interested in exploring our many boutiques, sipping on craft beer or wine, or simply enjoying the local sights, there’s something for everyone. And with Pumpkinville opening, HoliMont’s Mountain Bike Park, Holiday Valley’s Sky High Adventure Park and the chairlift rides still running, plus golfing, hiking and biking all around us, families may find it challenging to fit in all that there is to discover!”

Up to 40 teams are expected to travel to Ellicottville to play on fields that are located in Ellicottville’s Village Park (Parkside Drive) and the Chamber fields across from the Inn at Holiday Valley (Route 219 & Holiday Valley Road). The event schedule offers not only competitive matches for athletes, but also a high-energy showcase for spectators. The community is encouraged to venture out to the playing fields, take in the action, and show their support.

“We are thrilled to bring the Lacrosse Festival back to Ellicottville for its seventh year,” said McFadden. “It’s a wonderful chance for our town to come together and celebrate the sport of lacrosse while welcoming visitors from near and far.”
