Tri-County Arts Council Announces July Workshops


OLEAN - It’s too hot outside, so time for AC and cool classes at Tri-County Arts Council. Sign up for classes online at: https://www.tricountyartscouncil.org/classes/.

Wheel Throwing: July 16, 23, 30 and August 6, 13, 2024 (Tuesday) with Abby Zickefoose from 6:00-8:00pm with use of Clay Studio for 6 weeks. Cost: $180 Artisan Members & Above $200 Basic/Family Members & Non-Members. Age: 14+. The goal of the Wheel Throwing class is to provide students with a general understanding of basic beginner level throwing techniques such as centering, pulling walls, trimming, and glazing. Participants of the class will gain a broader understanding of wheel throwing and the stages of making a pot. Skill levels can include someone who has been working with clay for 30 years to someone who has never touched clay. We all have something to learn! If desired, bring your own aprons and hand towels.

Business Plan Development Class for Artists: July 11, 18, 25 & Aug 1, 2024 (Thursday) with Brian Kelly from 6:00-8:00pm. Cost: $10 Artisan Members & Above $20 Basic/Family Members & Non-Members. Age: 18+. Unlock the Potential of Your Artistic Vision! Join Our Business Plan Development Class for Artists! Are you a passionate artist with a dream to turn your creativity into a thriving business? Our exclusive three-week Business Plan Development Class with an extra day of Q&A, is designed just for you, helping artists like you transform their talents into successful ventures.

TCAC will be holding an Opening Reception “An Artistic Journey, From Watercolors to Oils and Back Again” for Barbara Fox on July 12 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. The show runs from July 12- August 31. 

Block Quilting: July 13, 2024 (Saturday) with Chris Schultz from 1:00-3:30pm. Cost: $35 Artisan Members & Above $45 Basic/Family Members & Non-Members. Materials Fee: $5. Age: 12+. Enjoy playing with colorful fabrics to make creative patchwork blocks, without the need for rulers or special tools. Appropriate for beginners and seasoned quilters alike. The Tri-County Arts Council advocates for the creation and appreciation of arts and culture in the region. TCAC is always adding to their Artisan Market and class schedule at 110 West State Street in Olean, NY.

All Tuesday classes will still be happening, and we will be adding morning arts classes soon. Sand Sculptures and Wheel Throwing classes are also still happening.

We now have new Summer hours from Wednesday to Friday from 10:00am to 5:00pm and Saturday and Sunday from 10:00am to 4:00pm. All Hours and Classes are subject to change. Please call 716-372-7455 for more information.
