Holiday Valley Events That Will Get You Stoked For Ski Season

Lately there is a chill in the air in Ellicottville. The first snow of the season fell on the village on November 2nd. With some help from Mother Nature, Holiday Valley plans to open for the ski and snowboard season on Friday, November 26th. Because of that, excitement is also in the air.

SKI MAGAZINE READER RESORT SURVEY

The voters have spoken! This season, Holiday Valley is honored to announce that the resort has achieved its highest SKI Magazine Reader Resort Survey ranking ever; finishing at #2 in the East. SKI readers chimed in with their opinions on everything from off the hill amenities to resort services and on-hill experiences, and when it was all said and done, Holiday Valley beat out many larger, heavy hitters on the east coast. Holiday Valley routinely ranks pretty high in the resort survey, but to make it all the way to #2 is quite the achievement. Rest assured, the resort will not rest on its laurels and will strive to bring an even better guest experience to its fans this season.

BEER AND WINE FEST

Do you like beer? Wine? How about food? Holiday Valley has the ultimate trifecta for you in its annual Beer and Wine Festival, which will take place on Saturday, November 13th. Come check out some of the region’s best craft brewers, wineries, cideries and eateries; you will be able to sample all of your favorites as well as check out some new recipes.

In order to create more space for guests, there will be two different sessions for this event. The first one runs from 1:00-4:00pm and the second one begins at 6:00pm and runs until 9:00pm. Both sessions take place at the Holiday Valley Lodge.

Check out the Events page at holidayvally.com for a list of vendors in attendance. Please note that all attendees, vendors, staff, and volunteers for Holiday Valley’s 2021 Beer and Wine Festival will need to show proof of vaccination against COVID-19 OR have proof of a negative COVID test within the past 72 hours.  Plan to present your proof of vaccination (Excelsior Pass or Vaccination Card) when you show your ID at the entrance.

Tickets are $60 through November 11th and $65 at the door. The Tim Britt band and the Stick Tights will play on the top floor and main floors of the Lodge, food will be available in the cafeteria, the T-Bar and at food trucks parked in the main lot.

CITY GARAGE MOVIE PREMIER

Tis the season for winter stoke videos and Holiday Valley is teaming up with The City Garage to bring you a great one on Friday, November 12th. Roots is a Faction Skis and Red Bull Media House production that showcases some of the most stunning and creative big-mountain and freestyle skiing that took place in the past year, performed by Faction's renowned athlete roster consisting of Olympic gold medalists, X Games champions, Freeride World Tour champions, backcountry skiing pioneers and up-and-comers, including former Ellicottville resident Bella Bacon.

Come up to the Champagne Sundeck at the Yodeler Lodge at 6:00pm to kick off the season in style with the City Garage crew. Dress for the weather because the movie is outside. Think of it as a great way to get prepared for being outside this winter.

KICKING OFF THE SEASON

As you know, the start of the season is dictated on 1) what Mother Nature decides to do, and 2) the hard work and dedication of the Holiday Valley Snowmaking team. The snowmakers are tried and true, so as long as Mother Nature does her part and gives Western New York some cold temps, Holiday Valley will open the day after Thanksgiving on November 26th. Stay tuned to holidayvalley.com and the Valley’s social media channels for the most recent updates on Opening Day.
