Chiba Chiba store sign approved; Variance application received for single family residence addition

The monthly meeting of the Ellicottville Village Planning Board took place this past Tuesday evening, January 12th. The meeting opened with a sign approval for Chiba Chiba CBD, Apparel and Gifts. The business occupies space at 18 Washington Street, the former location of Dekdebruns Ski Shop. The application was for an exterior hanging sign. All village code requirements have been met in regard to height, colors and size. There was a motion to approve; a second and ayes carried.

Discussion then followed pertaining to a project at 45 Monroe Street for a single family residence addition. The project will include exterior renovations and raising the house roof from a 1-1/2 story home to 2 stories. The front porch and rear deck are already in the required front and rear yards. The applicant has applied to the Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) for variances to front and rear setbacks. A Public Hearing has been set conditionally, pending the results of the ZBA meeting, for February’s meeting. There was a motion to conditionally set the Public Hearing; a second and ayes carried.

The next meeting of the Village Planning Board is scheduled for Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at 5:30pm. The meeting will be held virtually.  Please contact the Village Clerk's office at 716-699-4636 for login information.
