A Maple-Inspired Collaboration
ELLICOTTVILLE, NY - Ellicottville Brewing Company and Sprague’s Maple Farms have released their Blueberry Maple Pancake beer for a third year. Reminiscent of a pancake breakfast, this wheat ale is packed with locally made maple syrup and fresh blueberries, 7% ABV. Ellicottville Brewing Company is known for making one of the best Blueberry Wheat beers, and many would argue that Sprague’s has the best pancakes in the Southern Tier. Life does not get any sweeter than this collaboration brew.
“It has been a pleasure to do business with Ellicottville,” says Randy Sprague, owner and operator of Sprague’s Maple Farms. “I never imagined seeing our syrup in beer until recently. Now today, you see syrup in many applications. We take pure water generated in our syrup production and put it into bottled water. It is great to see the development within the maple industry.”
“Both products are made in Cattaraugus County which makes this special as we try to help each other out to generate tourism,” says Peter Kreinheder, owner of Ellicottville Brewing Company. "Randy has 1,000 acres of maple trees and produces tens of thousands of gallons of syrup each year. We used the maple syrup from the 2020 season as we brew Blueberry Maple Pancake to kick off the maple season. The maple syrup compliments the blueberry beer and produces a subtle maple flavor.”
Blueberry Maple Pancake is now available in select areas across the Ellicottville Brewing Co. distribution network in 6-pack 12-ounce bottles and 4-pack 16-ounce cans. You can find this specialty brew at a craft beer store near you and on tap at Ellicottville Brewing Pubs and Sprague’s Maple Farms. Both establishments are fortunate to have remained open through these times and look forward to serving you a Blueberry Maple Pancake.
