E-Ville Spirits Teams Up with Ellicottville Distillery for Private Tasting

Want to try some locally produced spirits this weekend in Ellicottville? Want to get out of the house and away from the kids for some adult-only time? There is a perfect event coming up for you! E-ville Spirits, Liquors & Wines is hosting a private tasting event featuring a line-up of Ellicottville Distillery’s greatest hits on Saturday, February 4 starting at 6:00pm.

Owner of E-Ville Spirits, Shannon Carscallen, was more than happy to share information about the upcoming event. When asked what prompted her to host, she said, “We sell a lot of products from Ellicottville Distillery and people always have a lot of questions, like how something was made, what’s included in the recipe… so we thought it would be great if the actual creator could come out answer them. I reached out to Bryan Scharf, owner of Ellicottville Distillery and got everything set up.”

The tasting will feature all of the Ellicottville Distillery products that Shannon has for sale in her store, including the Maple Bourbon Creme, which is extremely popular, as well as the Distillery’s Appleshine, Gin, Honey Spirit, new 5 Year Aged Bourbon and Blueberry Vodka. “It’s a great line-up to try and Bryan will be right here to answer any questions guests may have about flavor, creation and execution,” Shannon explained. “Maybe he could even share his knowledge about making a couple cocktails.”

This will no doubt be a fun and unique event. Shannon says, “It’s unique because not only do participants get to taste each spirit, but they have a real chance to interact with the creator of those spirits. It’s educational and enlightening at the same time.”

Bryan agrees that this is a great way for people who are curious about his distillery but haven’t been able to come out to 5462 Robbins Road to see it in person yet. “This is an opportunity for me to share my work and showcase all the great things we make,” he said. “We are unique in the way that we’re very authentic. Everything we do is done in-house - from creating, distilling and packaging, right down to marketing. You come in, I’ll give you a tour and show you around. I’m happy to explain how everything works, which spirit is my personal favorite… stuff like that. This event is exciting because I really enjoy sharing what we do here with other people and hopefully they’ll come out and see us afterwards.”

It sure sounds like everyone is very excited for this experience. Shannon said there are still a few spots left, available by reservation only, so now’s your chance to snag a spot.
