Ellicottville Library Kicks Off Kids Summer Reading Program

ELLICOTTVILLE, NY - The Ellicottville Memorial Library invites children from birth up through 12th grade to participate in the library’s Summer Reading Program which kicks off today, July 6th! This year, participants will learn about five of the most well known classes of creatures: mammals, birds, fish, reptiles and amphibians.

The Summer Reading Program helps children maintain their reading skills over the summer vacation and encourages regular use of the library. Each sign-up will get their own passport, which has a daily recording chart.  Read or be read to, 15 minutes a day.  Bring your passport in, the librarian will stamp it, and you will receive coupons that will go towards the many prizes that will be offered at the end of the program.  You might also be eligible for some nice treats, like pizza, ice cream and cookies! To top it all off, there will be games to play pertaining to each week’s adventure.

For more information about the library’s Summer Reading Program, top into the Ellicottville Memorial Library or call 716-699-2842.
