Helping Area Vets

A local area church delivers kindness to area vets

All across our nation, vets need our support now more than ever. Driving down Route 219 recently in Great Valley, ellicottvilleNOW spotted a sure sign of that giving spirit in our area, neighbor helping neighbor, in a very special way.

A local Great Valley church spearheaded an effort to make sure that our area servicemen and their families received some much needed support. Pastor John Green from the Great Valley United Methodist Church partnered with Donald Cramer, owner of Muleskinnerz Beagels. The two, recognizing the needs of our local veterans, combined with Western New York Heroes. The group held a food drive on June 6th in Pastor Green’s church parking lot along Route 219 in Great Valley.

Produce, dry goods, bread, cheese and more were handed out with no questions asked. Church goers and volunteers on location told ellicottvilleNOW that this was a gracious gift to thank every veteran for their freedom and their service.

If you’d like to help our area vets in need, reach out to Western New York Heroes at 716-630-5020 or visit https://wnyheroes.org
