Summer in Ellicottville
The newest celebration in Ellicottville shines a spotlight on redheads! “Bring out your best ginger” for a weekend of ginger-loving fun with various red-themed contests, drink specials, redhead memorabilia and … unicorns? Organizers are still planning out all of the fun and safe activities that will be hosted throughout the village (including a Red Head Zero-K; insert lol! emoji here), but it’s a safe bet that it will be a weekend to remember! Pre-register to reserve your official Red Head Days Tote, which includes your choice of t-shirt, button, koozie, and a beer glass, all for just $30!
Race against friends (and time) in the 3.5 or 5.4 mile races that take you through the heart of the resort. Don’t worry, the Mudslide doesn’t have barbed wire, rings of fire or anything of that sort - just fun in the mud! And it ends with a giant - you guessed it - mudslide to cross the finish line! Costumes are encouraged! For additional details and to reserve your spot at the starting line, go to holidayvalley.com/mudslide
With so many races cancelled for 2021 and runners excited to get back to running in-person events, EnduranceFactor has found a great course that does not utilize public streets while still being a much easier course than a trail type event. The course utilizes a railway bed converted to the Pat McGee Trail and is flat and fast, only 125 feet of elevation gain for the entire Half Marathon! Choose between the Half or the 5k, and register soon to secure your spot at the starting line. Wave start, finishers medal, cool t-shirt, recovery food!
Summer in Ellicottville is returning to its fun-loving, people-loving and music-loving self, and with so many activities planned in the village over the next few months, you’ll want to be a part of the Friday kickoff to Summer Music Festival Weekend featuring The Girls Of Grosh. This high-energy duo from Buffalo, NY features Grace Lougen on guitar and Megan Brown on vocals. With influences from bands such as Led Zeppelin and Pearl Jam, these girls showcase a visceral, heavy, and inspiring sound you won’t forget. They. Will. Blow. You. Away!
Join the excitement Independence Day Weekend when the first fairway of Holiday Valley’s golf course becomes one of the best outdoor concert venues in the region. Live performances by Steve Augeri (former lead singer of Journey) with opening act Tommy Decarlo (current lead singer of Boston) on Saturday evening, followed by the Buffalo Philharmonic and a stellar fireworks display on Sunday. Tickets are on sale now through the Ellicottville Chamber of Commerce website. Children 12 and under are free!
The Ellicottville Championship Rodeo invites you to come out and enjoy a family tradition with a step back in time to wild and western non-stop action. As one of the largest IPRA/APRA sanctioned rodeos in the Northeast, Ellicottville is proud to bring the competition in many events, including bareback and saddle bronc riding, bull riding, steer wrestling, team roping, junior bull riding, barrel racing, and more. Even the kiddies can get in on the action with the return of the Kids’ Stick Horse Rodeo. Find times and ticket info on the rodeo website.

Following a mellow 2020 season, Stroll the Streets is returning to the downtown area in 2021 with a full slate of entertainment! Enjoy FREE family oriented activities in the village each Friday through summer. Rotating features may include anything from face painting and balloon twisting to henna tattoos, kids yoga, chalk art and more. Plus, live musical acts on the sidewalks in front of the shops and restaurants - SUPER! Search ‘Stroll the Streets in Ellicottville’ on Facebook and keep up with the many activities planned.
To compliment Stroll the Streets, Ellicottville’s Farmers Market will set up on the lawn of the 1887 Building, offering a variety of fresh produce, baked goods, artisan crafts and more from locally owned businesses. It’s your one-stop shop for organically grown fruits and vegetables, farm fresh eggs, locally produced maple syrup, specialty treats, fresh cut flowers … #SupportSmallBusiness. You’ll want to stop by each week to see what’s new, as different vendors are added to the market through the season.
