ELLICOTTVILLE - Despite threatening skies and cool temperatures, the Rotary Club of Ellicottville had a very successful village clean-up last Saturday, held in conjunction with Earth Day and the Rotary District 7090 Great Lakes Watershed Project.

Clean-up supplies were provided by the Ellicottville Chamber of Commerce, the Village of Ellicottville Public Works and Holiday Valley Resort. Manpower was provided by the Rotary Club and Ellicottville Central School High School students. Finnerty’s Restaurant served as home base and the restaurant very generously donated pizza and wings for all to enjoy after the clean-up.

The task would certainly have been more daunting if not for the way Ellicottville keeps itself a clean community with the help of local restaurants and businesses and the Alley Katz organization which cleans and maintains flowers and plant beds throughout the downtown area. The Rotary Club would like to thank all who helped and plans to do another clean-up in the Fall.

If you would like to be part of a fun and helpful team, please call Rotary President John Weismantel at 716-228-7288. The Rotary Club of Ellicottville meets two Wednesdays each month at the American Legion on Maples Road and hosts social nights routinely at local restaurants.
