Get Out and Have a Good Time this Summer

It’s spring, which means summer is just around the corner and, that’s the time to start planning all the fun things we want to do in the warmer weather. We want to get outside, go someplace, eat good food, hear great music and enjoy as much entertainment as we can. Well, Ellicottville Distillery is going to make sure they have all of those options and more covered for the 2023 spring/summer season.

BLUEBERRY VODKA RELEASE

Let’s start with May 15th. That’s the release date for their new batch of Blueberry Vodka. The Distillery will open at 12pm that day and the celebration is followed by live music from area favorite Kody and Herren from 4:00pm-7:00pm. Kody and Herren play original roots music and both of them are multi-instrumentalists. They always aim to entertain the audience.

START OF SUMMER BONFIRE

As I said, summer is just around the corner and there’s no better place than the Distillery to welcome the season at their Start of Summer Bonfire on May 27th. The Distillery will be open at noon, the fire will be started later in the evening and besides coming in for a delicious slushy or cocktail, there will be live entertainment provided by Porcelain Train, the acoustic Americana duo with a unique blend of harmony from 5:00-8:00pm.

EARS DICE RUN

Ellicottville Distillery slides into June with a great cause being the final stop for the EARS (Empire Animal Rescue Society) Dice Run on June 17th. There will be animals that are up for adoption for visitors to meet, a 50/50 drawing, basket raffle, food, music and more. EARS is just asking guests to bring a small donation of Purina Canned Dog/Cat food. Those who do will be entered into a drawing for a special mystery prize. (Prizes and pets, sign me up!)

CAR SHOW & BBQ

Sunday, June 25th the Distillery will be hosting their Annual Car Show & BBQ from 10:00-5:00pm. Car entry is just $15, with the best cars winning trophies and the proceeds going to the Oishei Children’s Hospital. There will be a 50/50 raffle and live music with the Chillbillys Trio from 2:00-5:00pm. A great way to end the weekend.

FIREWORKS, CORNHOLE & ROASTED PIG

July is a burst of activity with a fireworks display planned for the evening of July 3rd. You can get in the spirit beforehand at 6:00-10:00pm when The Beard & The Bird, along with Nashville Recording Artist Stacy Antonel perform.

The Annual Cornhole Tournament returns July 8th. The Tournament will start at 3pm, 2 people per team, $30 a team with double elimination. Live music will have the party jumping and food will be available. Register for the event by calling 716-597-6121.

And July 22nd is a good ol’ fashioned Pig Roast. Come out at 12:00pm and enjoy some tasty pork and a glass of Appleshine. Live music will be provided by WNY rock band Little Liar from 3:00-6:00pm. They play covers and originals you can rock out to.

TASTE OF ELLICOTTVILLE

The Distillery is popping in August! The Taste of Ellicottville falls on the 12th and 13th this year. A perfect time to visit and see what special brews are on offer and you can bet that there will be live music happening that weekend. (If they have them, I’d grab a slushy. Doesn’t matter what kind, they’re all good.)

4TH ANNUAL DISTILLED & CHILLED MUSIC FESTIVAL

August 19th is extra special because it’s the 4th Annual Distilled and Chilled Music Festival. This is a one day only, admission at the gate event. A whole line up of musicians will be performing on the Distillery’s outdoor stage. They’ve already lined up Ten Cent Howl, Kody & Herren, The Beard & The Bird and Jason Mirek for this year. Food trucks will be in the parking lot and a multitude of vendors will be peddling their wares (like baked goods, pickles, jewelry etc…) around the field. It’s a fantastic event that the whole family can enjoy. More information on the performers and vendors will be made available closer to the date. Keep your eye on the Ellicottville Distillery Facebook page for details.

WHISKEY ON WHEELS

New this year is the Whiskey on Wheels at the Attica Arcade Railroad. This is an adults only  (21+) event. Guests will enjoy a sampling of drinks from the Ellicottville Distillery while riding the rails. The 2+ hour trip is completed with live music and snacks. The train will depart at 5:00pm on August 26th.

OISHEI GOLF TOURNAMENT

Another great cause is the Oishei Golf Tournament the Distillery hosts each year. On September 14th, join them out at the Elkdale Country Club, located at 4676 Route 353 in Salamanca, NY for an 18-hole shotgun golf game. It is $90 a person or $360 a team, and you don’t even need a whole team to sign up. Live music, cocktails and dinner will follow immediately after. Call or text 716-801-0086 or 716-597-6121 to reserve your spot.

VINTAGE MOTORCYCLES

September 16th marks the return of the Vintage Motorcycle Showcase. Guests can come on out and get a look at a large collection of Vintage Motorcycles while sipping a delectable cocktail. There will be live music, food trucks on-site, 50/50 raffle to benefit Oishei Children’s Hospital. For those who are bringing their bikes, there is a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prize for best in show. Visit the Facebook event page for details on how to register.

SUMMER MUSIC SERIES

Throughout the whole of the summer, starting June 25th through September 3rd, every Sunday the Distillery will be home to live music. From local bands to big city performers, you will find someone inside or outside playing tunes from 2:00-5:00pm. The series starts on June 18th, with Meet the Bacons, Kody & Herren on July 2nd, Live Music with Grace Lougen on July 9th etc… the list is getting bigger all the time! Check the Facebook events page to stay up to date.

MORE TO COME

Whoo, that’s a lot of events and that’s not even all of them. This is just the list of confirmed items. Keep your eye on the Ellicottville Distillery Facebook page for news about the Liquor Run, Punkin Chunking in November, the Christmas Tree Bonfire, NYE Fireworks and more.

No matter what kind of entertainment you enjoy, if you come out to Robbins Road in Ellicottville, NY, you are bound to have an amazing time.
